COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

English: It is hardly a secret that we at the Amager Brewery have a deep rooted love for Imperial Stouts - the noblest of all beers. In fact, we are constantly in the process of developing new variations of this fine beverage, this variation has eight malts and three hops. We are particularly proud to present what we feel is the king of hops: Zeus.
Amager Imperial Stout is a beer as black as mortal sin , crowned with the densest and most creamy light brown head. The coffee and chocolate accents are very distinct, but they come exclusively from the malt, while the aroma is rich with vanilla.
Amager Imperial Stout is in all respects a fierce beer for the more demanding and experienced beer drinkers who are not afraid to challenge their senses.
Ingredients: Water, barley malt, wheat malt, oats, brown sugar, hops and yeast

On draft at Capone’s in Philadelphia. The beer is black with a dense half inch of beige cap. The aroma brings dark chocolates, roast, coffee. Smells great. Really smooth and full of flavor. Wonderful coffee melds with gourmet chocolates. Sweetness is minimal, and the beer has a gentle, bitter finish. Alcohol content is an afterthought. Overall, this was outstanding. from Erzbierschof - black beer under a long lasting dark beige foam; the hops succeed to dominate the roasted malts leaving notes of blackcurrant, licorice and black cherries; full-bodied and rounded; moderately carbonated; gently sticky and solidly bitter; pretty dry and long hoppy and roasted malty finish with hints of chocolate, earth, tar and black cherries - the alcohol is pretty well-hidden

Pours almost black, with a slight tan head. Aroma of licorice, vanilla, chocolate, and malts. Taste is complex and good, notes of coffee, chocolate, hops, and malt. A very strong Imperial stout. Thumbs up for sure.

Bottle. Head is small, brown and compact. The beer is almost black. Aroma is great: vanilla, chocolate and hops (a bit fruity). Taste is bitter coffee with noticeable hops. Soft carbonation, smooth mouthfeel. Finish is dry, sharp bitterness, warming.

Different imperial stout or, at the very least, not what I expected. Very hoppy and bitter. The aroma had me fooled at first. A bit too dry a finish for me. Still, I definitely enjoyed this beer. Thanks for the recommendation BoBo!

Ron (2509) - Rochester, New York, USA - OCT 28, 2012
Bottle. Poured black color with an average frothy brown head that disapated with some lacing. Moderate to heavy toasted malt, chocolate, dark fruit and some alcohol aroma. Medium to full body with a rich smooth texture and flat carbonation. Medium sweet chocolate flavor with a medium sweet smooth finish of moderate duration. Was this to be a victory beer or to drown my sorrows? That was in doubt to the last second of the game. Drown my sorrows it did.

Pours black with very small beige head. Smells sweet and well roasted. The taste is rich and has depth even with a strong roasted grain. There is a soft fruit under the grain, sort of a cherry like sweetness. Nice smooth chocolaty taste with the -almost near burnt but not- grain leaves a slightly dry rich grainy taste with a slight boozy warmth. Very tasty, and well worth trying.

Black, tan head. Aroma of roasted malts, coffee, caramel, candy sugar and sweets. Bitter flavour, roasted malts and some caramel. Finish roasted malts and mocha.
