Commercial Description:
Bitterhed: 140+ IBU

English: It is hardly a secret that we at Amager Bryghus tend to care for Imperial Stouts - the finest and most noble of all beer styles. Actually, at the brewery we are at all times developing new variants of this noble drink. As always, we tend to add more of everything, which is also the case with this beer: it took no less than eight different malts and three different hops, and we are especially proud to present the king of hops; Zeus. Amager Imperial Stout is a beer as black as original sin itself, topped with the most dense and creamy light brown head. Clear notes of coffee and chocolate, but they appear from the malt exclusively, whereas the scent is rich of vanilla. In all regards Amager Imperial Stout is an extreme beer for the demanding and experienced beer lover, who is not afraid of challenging his senses.

Poured an opaque black color with a medium sized, tan head that left nice lacing on the glass. Aroma of roasted malts, some smoked wood, dark chocolate, sweet molasses, and vanilla. Taste of burnt malts, roast, some coffee, cocoa, light toffee, and a bit of alcohol in the finish. Thanks to Mike for sharing!

500ml bottle. Deep black body with a soft brown head. Nose is extremely heavy bitter roast, dry charred wood and roast-heavy astringent and sharp burnt chocolate malt. There’s a dry cocoa powder note throughout, and a bitter, heavily astringent smoked barley and charred wood character, makes it dificult to really like. Rich toffee shows up late in a bitter and dry dusty cocoa finish.

Bottle thanks to bu11zeye. Black brown body with a odd looking dark grey black brown head. Nose: earth, mud, garbage, chocolate. Tastes like a fudge brownie with some dirt on it. Kind of tasty.

bottle from bu11zeye. black pour with a very thin creamy head. very hoppy on the nose with roasted malts in the background. roasted malts are very much the star here with a very bitter chocolatey finish.

Bottle thanks to bu11zeye. Pours with a huge, light brown heead and a black body with really great lacing. Aroma of grapefruit/citrus, brown sugar and chocolate brownines. Taste is very chocolatey with a ton of hops and some cocoa. Syrupy with light bubbles, great hoppy impy stout.
