COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

English: It is hardly a secret that we at the Amager Brewery have a deep rooted love for Imperial Stouts - the noblest of all beers. In fact, we are constantly in the process of developing new variations of this fine beverage, this variation has eight malts and three hops. We are particularly proud to present what we feel is the king of hops: Zeus.
Amager Imperial Stout is a beer as black as mortal sin , crowned with the densest and most creamy light brown head. The coffee and chocolate accents are very distinct, but they come exclusively from the malt, while the aroma is rich with vanilla.
Amager Imperial Stout is in all respects a fierce beer for the more demanding and experienced beer drinkers who are not afraid to challenge their senses.
Ingredients: Water, barley malt, wheat malt, oats, brown sugar, hops and yeast

A thick black pour with a dark tan head. Light colored sediment settles to the bottom of the glass. The aroma offers rich malt, alcohol, and dark fruit. The are some nice hops tasted that helps define the flavor. They add spiciness, bitterness, and fruit to the big malt profile. Chocolate is dark and substantial, dark fruit, anise. Feel is rich and thick. A super beer!

Draft at Capones in Norristown, PA. Pours pitch black with a one finger dark beige head that slowly settles into a thin ring.  Streaks of lacing left behind. Slightly smokey, roasted malt aroma with hints of dark chocolate, coffee and floral, earthy hops.  A bit tamer than expected with some nice roast and dark malt but kind of pedestrian. Slightly chewy, medium body with a decent balance of roasted malt, lactic cream and silky chooclate. There’s also a nice bitter and earthy hop presence toward the end of the plate that adds complexity and balance.  Slight lactic cream presence but remains bitter throughout with hints of burnt toast, dark chocolate, oatmeal and coffee bean. Still, surprisingly not a complete malt bomb with some silky sweeter chocolate notes and peppery spice. Dry finish.

Bottle from Knightly Spirits. Black pour with a minimal brown head. Aroma is big roasty mix of chocolate, coffee, vanilla, and anise. Tastes are along the same lines - heavy on the roasty and bitter chocolate. The licorice vibe makes it not my personal favorite -- but it’s well put together. Little bit acidic in the long bitter finish.

16.9 oz. bottle- Pours black, zero transparency, not even red highlights, this must have came right from Satans asshole right into my glass for me to enjoy! Thick as tar and a nice creamy dark tan head, awesomely cobwebby lacework. The aroma is chocolate malt and coffee, oak is also detectable, very robust and thick. The taste is at first chocolatey and coffee, but then a huge amount of bitterness hits you, then it finishes bitter and chocolatey, a rollercoaster of bitterness, chocolate and coffee. Leather and maybe tobacco is also in there, which is also welcome. Body is huge, thick, creamy and hoppy, carbonation is low. Overall I loved it, Ageing would tame those massive Zeus hops, and blend the beer wonderfully, I might have to pick up another bottle and just do that..

Bottle @ home. Pitch black, short brown head, lasting lacing. Aroma of a big roasted imperial stout, chocolat, some coffee, biscuity malt, earthy hop. Great taste, thick body. Good balance between sweet crystal malts and hop bitterness, quite clean. Reminds me a lot of classic american impies like the yeti. Lovely stuff.

500 ml. bottle. Pours a medium light brown long duration head, with attractive lacing, over a black (SRM 40) body, some sedimentation....nose is coffee, chocolate, toffee/caramel.....taste is sweet malts with toffee/caramel, brown sugar. backed up by coffee, chocolate, leading to dried fruits including, cherry, plum, raisin, finishing with a lingering hop/roasted malt bitterness...mouth feel thick, chewy, alcohol hidden, carbonation adds a creamy foam. This is without a doubt an Imperial Stout. It is well balanced and very complex in both aroma and flavor. The early sweetness and richness is well balanced by the later bitterness making for a very enjoyable beer. BJCP 8/3/15/4/8

500ml. Opaque black with a lasting disc of cream on top. Aroma is crisp with peppery rye, cocoa, salty sea breeze, and char. Taste is dark chocolate, coffee, orange caramel, soy, smoky rye, and charred driftwood. Medium-heavy body is well-balanced and smooth, with low carbonation and a nice touch of warmth.

500ml bottle. Pours a deep brown-black, with a patchy, rusty beige head. Chocolate and graham cracker aroma, Smooth and creamy, but rich, with some residual chewy chocolate covered hops bitterness in the finish. The big, burnt coffee and vanilla-chocolate tones really come out as it reaches cellar temperature and above. World Class, a completely enjoyable experience. Faint licorice. Sublime, but full of flavor and depth. Awesome. Insane amount of yeast in the bottom of the bottle.
