English: Forget about India Pale Ale being an English beer, which should be robust enough to withstand the long sea voyage from England to India. Our version of an IPA is totally inspired by the new interpretations, especially those found on the U.S. west coast.
A solid malt base, combined with Simcoe, Amarillo and Cascade hops and then just dry hopped enough to ensure that the hop burn is thorough. It is fruity and fresh, it’s bitter like hell and it is strong enough to give you a little kick if you drink a couple of bottles or three.
This is how we make a great IPA at Amager. We don’t have a single doubt that you will enjoy our IPA , because it is a damn good beer. Cheers!

Bottle (50 cl) from Systembolaget. Hazy copper with a large fluffy yellow head. Hoppy aroma with oranges and pine needles. A bit overcarbonated. Harschly dry and bitter. Not a very good IPA.

Bottle 50cl. Pours a clear orange beer with a white lively head. Mild smell of citrus, probably grapefruit. Medium bitterness. This IPA is a real nice one, very easygoing.

Nice brew, but not in the top of IPA. Nice aroma which is fresh. But there are missing something in the beer to get it in top.

Hand bottle shared by byaeger. Maybe this one didn’t take well to the hand bottling, or maybe it was just a meh-worthy beer. Pours a hazy reddish-amber color (very dark for an IPA) with a large, lasting off-white head. Aroma is grassy and citrusy hops along with caramel malt. Decent. Flavor is also decent, but far from impressive. Caramel malt, hops reminiscent of fresh-cut grass, slight citrus, and maybe even a little soapiness. Medium body with some mild hop oils and slight syrupiness. Not the biggest fan of this one overall, although it wasn’t terrible.

Bottle. Pours clear amber coloured with a nice lacing off white head. Clean and crisp aroma with notes of pine, citrus fruit, caramel and grapes. Great! Clean flavour with notes of sweet malt and aromatic hops. Super simple (yet hard to make). Clean, crisp and balanced. Awesome brew!

Nice and fine foam. Unclear. Balanced towards bitterness, with some malt. Aroma malty, simple warm hop, and water? Medium to thick body with fizz. Not really interesting. Anonymous. Purchased at Ørsted Ølbar. Tap.

Bottle courtesy of Papsoe (unlabeled). Pours a hazy reddish brown color wioth a medium frothy head. Good head retention and lacing. Aroma of beautiful citrus and floral hop notes with a sugary caramel note in the background along with a vegetal twinge. Taste is bitter earthy, resiny hops with plum, berries, strawberries and other fruity notes, along with caramel. Medium bodied, smooth with not much lingering bitterness, fairly strong carbonation.
