English: Forget about India Pale Ale being an English beer, which should be robust enough to withstand the long sea voyage from England to India. Our version of an IPA is totally inspired by the new interpretations, especially those found on the U.S. west coast.
A solid malt base, combined with Simcoe, Amarillo and Cascade hops and then just dry hopped enough to ensure that the hop burn is thorough. It is fruity and fresh, it’s bitter like hell and it is strong enough to give you a little kick if you drink a couple of bottles or three.
This is how we make a great IPA at Amager. We don’t have a single doubt that you will enjoy our IPA , because it is a damn good beer. Cheers!

Bottled 500ml. Very nice appearance: Deep murky ruby. Foam just kept creeping out of the bottle. Impressive head retention. Wonderful hoppy nose which is mostly reminiscent of quince. Complex tatse with a good hop profile. Liquorice allsorts, sweat and mint sneaking in. Good lacework. A bit harsh. Peppery on the swallow. Nasturcium, hops and licorice in the finish. Poor mouthfeel. There is a slight "spring onion charateristic" in the taste which is disturbing.

UPDATED: AUG 18, 2009 The Amager IPA is one of the IPA’s i like for being unfiltered. A beer which is bottle conditioned is a quality in itself, and the yeast aroma this adds to the overall taste of an IPA is definitely worth it. In addition to that this beer has a well-rounded and complex taste. Fresh without being watery, IPA spicyness without being too extreme at it and the whole thing pours nicely with a good head and beautiful smell to it.

On tap at In de Wildeman. Light hazy amber orange colour, dense yellowish white head. Aroma of citrussy hops, grapefruit, bit of sugar. Flavour is citrus, bit of caramel and sugar, fruity hop, rather bitter earthy grapefruit finish that lingers. Medium bodied. Very good stuff, I’m beginning to like these Amager beers more and more.
