COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

English: Forget about India Pale Ale being an English beer, which should be robust enough to withstand the long sea voyage from England to India. Our version of an IPA is totally inspired by the new interpretations, especially those found on the U.S. west coast.
A solid malt base, combined with Simcoe, Amarillo and Cascade hops and then just dry hopped enough to ensure that the hop burn is thorough. It is fruity and fresh, it’s bitter like hell and it is strong enough to give you a little kick if you drink a couple of bottles or three.
This is how we make a great IPA at Amager. We don’t have a single doubt that you will enjoy our IPA , because it is a damn good beer. Cheers!
Ingredients: Water, barley malt , hops, and yeast

Bottle@Home. Light fruity and pretty grassy aroma. Orange/amber colour, beige head, good lace. Malt sweet, very bitter, grassy. Bit thin, burning, metallic. One dimensional and needs some body.

Sampled at DØE Beerfestival 2009, Valby. Pours an unclear golden beer with an offwhite head. The aroma is hops with citrus. The flavor follows the nose. The palate is bitter. Overall an average beer.

UPDATED: AUG 18, 2009 The Amager IPA is one of the IPA’s i like for being unfiltered. A beer which is bottle conditioned is a quality in itself, and the yeast aroma this adds to the overall taste of an IPA is definitely worth it. In addition to that this beer has a well-rounded and complex taste. Fresh without being watery, IPA spicyness without being too extreme at it and the whole thing pours nicely with a good head and beautiful smell to it.

On tap at In de Wildeman. Light hazy amber orange colour, dense yellowish white head. Aroma of citrussy hops, grapefruit, bit of sugar. Flavour is citrus, bit of caramel and sugar, fruity hop, rather bitter earthy grapefruit finish that lingers. Medium bodied. Very good stuff, I’m beginning to like these Amager beers more and more.

On tap at Wildeman. Dark amber. Quite dark for an IPA really. Medium head. Seriously hoppy through and through. Bitter in the finish. I really enjoyed this one.

Nice IPA with loud and clear hoppy ending on a more than a normal pale ale malt profile. Not entirely like the most vigouros West Coast IPAs. This is easy to drink and the alcohol burden is well desguised.

Bottle at In de Wildeman. This cloudy golden ale poured with a generous off-white head and a bread and fruit aroma. There is a strong caramel malt flavor with just the right amount of hop bitterness, some pine and a hint of carbonation.

Bottled. Amber coloured. Unclear. Dense beige head. Balanced aroma of light pine, light fruits, light flowers and light caramel. Flavour is caramel, fruits, flowers and herbs. Again very balanced and smooth. Medium to full bodied. Dry. Medium bitter end with very well balance between sweetness and bitterness. Very high drinkability.
