COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

English: Forget about India Pale Ale being an English beer, which should be robust enough to withstand the long sea voyage from England to India. Our version of an IPA is totally inspired by the new interpretations, especially those found on the U.S. west coast.
A solid malt base, combined with Simcoe, Amarillo and Cascade hops and then just dry hopped enough to ensure that the hop burn is thorough. It is fruity and fresh, it’s bitter like hell and it is strong enough to give you a little kick if you drink a couple of bottles or three.
This is how we make a great IPA at Amager. We don’t have a single doubt that you will enjoy our IPA , because it is a damn good beer. Cheers!
Ingredients: Water, barley malt , hops, and yeast

Draught at Monk’s Porterhouse, Stockholm. Hazy amber, rocky head. Pleasant strong aroma of sweaty strawberry and hay. Mid sweet with well rounded mouthfeel and a bove medium body. Plenty of grapefruit andha, notes of cheries. Slowly growing bitterness. A tasty IPA.

Bottle from Mane Liquor. Pours orange/amber with a small, firm white head that stays for the duration. Leaves some spotty lacing too. Nose is all about the bitterness and mix of tropical hoppage. A huge hit of mango mingles with hints of passionfruit and grapefruit. Nice sourness and bitterness surrounds the nose. Taste showcases a heap of tropical fruits - passionfruit, mango, apricot, lychee. Slight herbal tones with resinous notes in there. Lengthy bitterness. Nice IPA

(bottle) Poured hazy amber with excellent dense big slightly off white head. Beautiful floral hop aroma. Medium bodied and well carbonated. Flavour has a subtle light malt sweetness at the start for just a short time before it is inexorably replaced by a big hoppy bitterness that last for ages. That bitterness has some subtle pleasant floral hints but the flavour is overwhelmingly one of hop bitterness. Overall this is a nice example of a high bitterness IPA, but this style, which was once interesting and unusual, is now for me becoming tedious because whilst beer needs bitterness, this extreme level is not intrinsically pleasant and the whole effect is unbalanced.

In short: An uber-hoppy, very sharp, bitter, astringent and yeasty darker IPA. Very good
How: Bottle 500ml, consumed 5 months before expiration date (that’s as fresh as I could get it in North-America)
The look: Cloudy rust-color body, small particles, medium beige head with medium retention
In long: A hoppy from which still emanated a certain freshness despite the beer being 5 months away from expiration date. Leafy hops, citrusy hops and piney hops all blending into the yeast fruity esters that included bananas and such. Taste is very sharp and far from generic. Lots of yeast covering the shy toasted soggy chewy malts, A bit of honey. Hops are the main attraction in this beer. Very bitter hop bill dominated by grapefruits, pine-tree and green pine-needles. Some dust (dusty yeast) and the piney hops blend together to create a dry astringent sawdust sensation. Rather aggressive bitterness and astringency. Tasty beer, I liked it a lot. I love staying home on my couch and down a whole bunch of tasty beers like this one. I’m not a lazy drunk, I like to think of myself as an individual who is highly motivated not to stay sober and do stuff.

50cl bottle - pours hazy deep orange with steady creamy light beige head. A bittersweetness in the nose - orange peel, peach, melon. Taste: sweetness immediately countered by bitterness, tangerine notes. Long finish. Average IPA.
