COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

Bottle (50cl). Slightly unclear, dark reddish brown colour. Finger-thick sticky offwhite head, some lacing. Aroma of malt, plums, figs, cookies, caramel. Full body, soft carbonation. Medium sweet, fruity/malty taste with some acidity (that becomes more dominating in the finish), mild bitterness. Good balance.

Brown with ruby highlights. Small off-white, almost tan head. No lacing. Smells bready with a roasty spiciness. Taste bready, malty. Thin with a bitterness in the back. Pretty quaffable beer. A little too carbonic. Lacking in many ways. Might be due to the age on it. Still drinkable though.

Bottle from trade with Papsoe. A clear, reddish brown body and a two-finger, dense, beige head. There’s caramel, some dried fruits and a spiced touch to the aroma. According to the commercial description there’s no spices added, so I guess the yeast does the trick, even though it says it’s a neutral one. Well, it doesn’t really matter, it’s a nice aroma anyway. The flavor is caramel sweet and lightly spiced, again I guess the yeast is the sinner. A pleasant hoppy bitterness and a touch of alcohol are found too. It’s warming, full-bodied and dry on the palate. Dry, bitter and spiced finish. A nice one indeed, although as a Christmas beer I think it needs some more sweetness. 101229
