COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

English: Throw off the darkness, make merry and bid the light welcome! That is the simple message in our Spring IPA "Kåååd" (Frisky). Not many people know this, but there is a whole herd of beef cattle being raised in a secret Amager location on the spent grain from our beer production. This cattle herd, surely the happiest in the world, had barely tasted the grain from this very beer, before they let out a celebratory MUUH so loud that it could be heard all the way to downtown Copenhagen. The ensuing merriment in the herd caused a Stampede greater than any seen in Calgary in July. But one thing is for sure: If you, dear hophead, partake of this brew, you will become as frisky as our happy heifers as soon as you catch a whiff of the aromatic hops that we have jam-packed into "Kåååd". Have a merry old spring - and don’t do anything we, or the happy cattle, wouldn’t do...

Ingredienser: Vand, Malte: Pilsner-, Münchener-, Cara Pils og Melanoidin malt. Humler: Herkules, Tomahawk, Summit, Chinook, Simcoe, Centennial, Amarillo og Cascade. Gær: en amerikansk overgær.

Bottle given to me for Father’s Day. Pours a rather just off cloudy golden colour, with a huge foamy white head, that diminishes rather quickly, leaving clumpy lace. Nose is super tropical. Tastes super sweet, nice roundness with the malt, really nice bitterness. Impressive.

Bottle 50 cl, bottled as Modern IPA. Orange, hazy with a medium white head. Hops, grapes, and Orange. Medium bitter with a nice Hoppy end.

Batch 654.

500 mL bottle from the LCBO, served in a snifter. Pours slightly hazy golden-amber with a small rocky white head that fades to a thin remnant and leaves a small amount of fine lace. The nose has notes of peppery, spicy, citric hops, along with tropical fruit and pale malts. The flavour is balanced between medium sweet with citrus, tropical fruit and honey on the one hand, and moderately bitter, citric-tropical hops on the other. It closes out with a soft but hoppy finish that lingers for a good while. On the palate it is medium in body with a dryish texture and soft carbonation. Overall, this is a nice delicate IPA that packs a decent dose of hops but without overwhelming. Actually fairly subtle. 2014-07-04

[Bottle (500ml)] Pours a cloudy golden-orange with a large lasting frothy off-white head. Some decent lacing. Aroma of floral hops and bready malt, lightly catty and with a good amount of fruit and some light sugary sweetness. Flavour is citrusy, fruity and hoppy -- enjoyable. Moderate bitter finish. Medium bodied. Well done, I quite liked it.

Bouquet of fresh, floral, seasonal hops. Looks are good: Cloudy, semi-transluscent amber body with a beige head with great retention. Flavor is sharp, crisp and grassy with a bitter aftertaste. Sharp feeling lingers in mouth many moons ago.

500 mL bottle from LCBO served cool in a tulip glass. Clear orange-amber with a rocky, off-white head. Pungent, perfumed hops, a little orange peel, resin, cat pee, quite peppery, rich caramel backbone, a bit of fruitiness from the malt bill. Medium+ body with relaxed carbonation. Resin, cat pee, light tropical fruits and citrus, lemon-lime, pine, less malt character than the nose; dry with good bitterness and a somewhat dusty, resinous, cat pee finish. Very different from the bottle I shared with my bro. That one was quite sweet, almost cloying. Odd. This is good, not quite an ideal hop profile for my palate.

Pours light straw yellow with a small frothy white top and good lacing. Aroma is straw grains, floral and citrus hops. Taste is a nice bouquet of floral and citrus hops with some cereal grains. Great beer.
