COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

Flaske, 50 cl.

Bottle at home. Black with a thick, lasting tan head. The aroma blends bourbon notes of vanilla and coconut with soft imperial stout notes of dark chocolate, licorice, cocoa and dried fruit. The flavour is sweet and soft, with lots of chocolate and fruit, and pretty obvious bourbon notes. It’s sweet, but only a little bit sticky and not at all sugary. I can’t recall having ever had a Danish imperial stout better suited for barrel aging. A little raw around the edges, and with too obvious bourbon, so it’s still too soon to compare it to the best barrel aged Swedish imperial stout. I’ll have to put a few away in the cellar

Bottle: Served in a Duvel glass: Medium sized creamy light brown copper foamy head on top of a black colored beer. Aromas of vanilla, coffee, roast, bourbon, cough syrup, a hint of peppery tones, some wood, some chocolate and slight hints of bay leaf and marzipan. Flavours of bourbon, bitters, spices, roast, vanilla, some hints of coffee and chocolate, light pepery burn on the tongue, some mocha, light sprinkle of soy, some herbal roast and sticky sweet tones like sprinkles of marzipand and brown sugars while not sweet at all! Aftertaste is light sticky, mocha, bourbon, wood, roast, bitter and some coffee with a bay leaf sprinkle. Low carbo, silky spicy mouthfeel, fuller bodied and a creamy oily spicy texture. Complex but also an easy drinker. Very nice!
