Pourspitch black with a very nice compact tan head. Aroma is chocolate, honey, heather, hazelnuts, muscovado sugar, vanilla. Taste is just awesome: chocolate, honey, vanilla, muscovado sugar, heather, cream, almonds. Mouthfeel is very nicely textured; creamy yet quite light. Very good!

4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours black with low frothy tan head. Aroma of bourbon, vanilla, wood, burnt brown sugar, milk chocolate, roasted malts. Taste is bourbon and vanilla sweet with loads of chocolate and hints of coffee. Boozy slightly bitter finish with the sweet hints balancing it nicely. Body is rich and creamy with soft carbonation. The regular version is better but as far as BA editions go, this is a nicely balanced one.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
UPDATED: NOV 17, 2013 Bottle courtesy of rlgk. pours pitch black with a rather small mocha head that quickly dissipates without leaving much trace on the glass. Smell is sweet with roasted malts, sweetened dark roast coffee, vanilla fudge, charred wood, sweet low quality dark chocolate, alcohol, bourbon, soil and hints of citrus zest. Taste is sweet and bitter with roasted malts, dark roast coffee, brown sugar, charred wood, bitter chocolate, roasted nuts, bourbon, vanilla fudge, soil, grapefruit rinds and hints of alcohol. Mouthfeel is round, tiny roasted astringent, tiny watery and medium to full bodied. Finish is bitter and tiny sour with roasted malts, dark roast coffee, bitter chocolate, moist soil, charred wood, bourbon and lemon zest. I can’t wrap my head around this one. It just doesn’t lift off for me.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
500ml bottle. Pitch black colour with late awakening, huge, creamy, fairy lasting, moderately lacing, beige head. Roasty dark malty aroma, notes of coffee, cappucchino, milk chocolate, a touch of vanilla, some treacle in the background. Taste is moderately sweet dark malty, notes of coffee, cappucchino, treacle, a touch of vanilla, also dry roasty, hints of dark chocolate; hints of alcohol in the finish. Soft, slightly sticky palate, creamy texture. Feels like mocha ice cream or better, like a ice cream known to me as "Malaga", mocha with rum soaked raisins. Superb!

(11/11/13 Bottle from Khioskh, KBH) Pours pitch black with a rather quick fading brown/grey head and a sprinkly sound. Has a surprisingly fresh aroma, almost like limesoda in the beginning, followed by toasted nuts and coffee, chocolate and vanilla. I actually don’t get any bourbon. Taste is chocolaty, like the not BA one, with a boozy bourbon hint and some bitterness. There’s quite the liquorice feeling as well as some coffee, roasted nuts and caramel. Not a lot of bourbon though. Been drinking a lot of good stouts recently, and this doesn’t really get up there.
