On tap @ Stone Brewing’s Pour It Black 2014. Oak, cedar, wood, toffee, earthy hops, dark chocolate and subtle bourbon on the nose. Black in color. Taste is silky smooth caramel, chocolate, cocoa, toasted bread, roasted malts, toffee and earthy bitter hops. Finish is bourbon booze, roasted barley, wood and very dry earthy bitterness. A rating.

Draught @ Real Gastropub, Honolulu. Dark brown, rich molassesy nose (must be the Amager) with vanilla, dash of milk chocolate. Taste is intense, going through waves of vanilla, wood, spicy, molasses... A little whacky actually.

UPDATED: AUG 14, 2014 Pours like an impy stout. Sure. Aroma has a huge amount of coffee up front. I get standard imperial stout notes on the more roasted side with some liquorice. Also get some more sweeter notes like toffee, chocolate and caramel. A weak note of bourbon hiding in the back as well which is giving off a little heat. Taste of roasted malts, liquorice, caramel, weak chocolate and a little heat at the end. Not too ’settled’ IMO even though i’ve aged this bottle a year or so. Would prefer the non-barrel aged version of this (the old batch) .

Bottle. Pours pitch Black with a fluffy, tan head. Aroma has lots of coffee, toffee, hazel nuts, mild roasted malts. Barely no bourbon. Taste has lots of chocolate, coffee, toffee, oatmeal, caramel. Dark dried fruits. Ends of more roasted. The bourbon is hard to find. Very soft Body and medium carb. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle shared from Vestergaard and Rasmusott. Thanks guys. Pours a jet black with a medium pretty tanned head. Aromas of coffee, booze, slight bourbon, toffee, some sweet dark fruits. Taste is very toffee up front, slight bourbon and very roasted dark coffee and some dry dark chocolate finish. Also a bit of liqorice.

from Erzbierschof - pitch black beer under a decently long lasting beige foam; aroma of black chocolate and vanilla, roasted and with hinzs of cherries; quite thick and full-bodied; the sweetness is soon overwhelmed by a strong bitterness; long roasted chocolatey and vanilla finish

Bottle thanks to Beechner224. Pours a dark black with a big tan head. Aroma is not much. I don’t get a lot. Maybe a tiny hint of bourbon. Taste is thin, nothing like the Brunch Weasel. This taste a little burnt and thin. One of the few beers where I prefer the non BA version a lot more.

Bottle in my fridge. Pours black, tan head. Aroma is burnt coffee and booze. Maybe a hint of whiskey.... maybe. Taste is astringent, coffee biterness, very thin. I dont get any real barrel. The standard brunch weasel is much better. This version does nothing but detract from a great original. Maybe I got a bad bottle, but this is not that good. I had the original just before this.... way better.

Great imp stout that rally brings a bourbon barrel flavor to a deep roast malt.
