3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
When i bought this, i thought it was beer geek brunch weasel. I cant be the only one that made that mistake. Aroma is a little weak. Not bad, just weak. Sweet maltiness, light coffee, not much else. Pours a nice dark brown color with medium sized tan head. I was expecting pitch black, but I guess not all stouts have to be that way. The taste is smooth and unassuming up front with a sharp hop and coffee bitterness that hits you at the end. ABV is very well hidden. Palate is nice and smooth, could be a little thicker. This is basically watered down brunch weasel. Spring for the real thing (it costs about the same), don't get fooled like I did. This is not a bad beer, but not world class by any means.

4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Black color with tan head. Lots of chocolate and round coffee. Dark fruits, slightly spicy, very rich, very complex. Amazing complexity and silky mouthfeel. Slight booze burn. Incredible how Mikkeller can brew a beer that balanced.

4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20
Has a completely black pour, with a stable, dense light brown head, revealing small bubbles at the edge of the glass.
The aromas in this come extremely well together, ranging between soft, berry infused milk-chocolate and earthy, slightly charred coffee beans. Its sweeter undertones of caramel and pine needles get gently wrapped up by the toasted, fresh crushed coffee beans. On top of that settle sour wild berries, creating a rich nose, full of different aromas, blending well together.
Almost no carbonation left (1.5 years old at the date of drinking), resulting in a very soft mouthfeel with an almost full body.
Tastes of earthy, toasty malts, together with chocolate-caramel cookie and a good portion of smooth whipped cream. The palate then gets confronted with a pleasant mix of matured, grassy hops and bitter, slightly berry accentuated coffee beans, adding even more earth to the taste. From this, a sweeter maltiness, as well as a gentle sourness, result from the so far established taste impression, smoothed by cream. Finishes with even more earthy, slighty bitter coffee and a slightly slick, long staying bitterness.
The brews earthyness is incredibly well pronounced, directly followed by bitter, berry enhanced coffee, with lots of cream to balance the subtle sourness. All flavors come together incredibly well, highlighting the roasted, bitter earth defined coffee.

3.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle. Dark brown pour that gives very little head. Great aroma of smoke, roasted coffee, bacon, and light chocolate. Tastes like sweet smoked meat mostly. Good amount of roasty coffee too in the finish. Completely flat carbonation which doesn’t work well. Makes this seem ultra thin. Still decent overall but not worth the price.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 13/20
Fruity scent. The taste is strong coffee, strong soy and dark malt. Heavy bitterness that fills the mouth forever. Good? Yes, but it could probably worth a lot better. Follow me @ Kung av öl @ Facebook for more pictures and ratings.

Pitch black with little foam. Light coffee nose. The taste is intense coffee with all flavors that come with that (that’s what I assume, I don’t like and/or drink beer, but this is awesome). Light balanced roasted aromas. The aftertaste is dry and very pleasant. Awesome beer.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Draft at Mikkeller Bar during CBC weekend 2014. Big stuff. Pours deep black-brown with a dense, lasting beige cream head. Lots of milk chocolate, coffee, baking cocoa. Full bodied with fine carbonation; and it’s chewy. Warming finish with lingering bittersweet baking cocoa, bitter roasted malts, coffee grounds. Good but lacks a bit of balance.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours a deep, dark brown. Not very carbonated, but if you pour vigorously you get a dense, creamy head, almost like a beer on nitro. Tastes a little creamy, too, like dark chocolate milk. Coffee is present but subdued.
