When i bought this, i thought it was beer geek brunch weasel. I cant be the only one that made that mistake. Aroma is a little weak. Not bad, just weak. Sweet maltiness, light coffee, not much else. Pours a nice dark brown color with medium sized tan head. I was expecting pitch black, but I guess not all stouts have to be that way. The taste is smooth and unassuming up front with a sharp hop and coffee bitterness that hits you at the end. ABV is very well hidden. Palate is nice and smooth, could be a little thicker. This is basically watered down brunch weasel. Spring for the real thing (it costs about the same), don't get fooled like I did. This is not a bad beer, but not world class by any means.

Coffee and chocolate aroma. Taste bitter coffee, dark chocolate, high alcohol, sweet finish. One year over time. Great evolution.

Pours dark brown, bit of beige foam. Aroma has coffee, chocolate and roast. Taste is coming from powerful milk chocolate, bit if booze, prickly roast and dark plums. Very juicy actually. Some ashy roast in the finish.

Tap and bottle rating. Full bodied, rich, oily. Never really kicks me in the dick like a world class imp does, but still a wholly satisfying blend of two top class beerus.

3 year aged bottle shared. Thanks Juan! Huge chocolate syrup nose with coffee, bakers chocolate, dark fruit and cherry all present. Insanely complex on the palate with the chocolate just dominating. The booze is there, but not overly so. Nutella on the finish with lots more chocolate. Sweet with some dryness on the finish. Wonderful and enjoyable stuff.

Pours a dark brown with a thin beige rim that leaves low lacing. Nose is of coffee, chocolate, smoke and something fresh that I associate with camphor (maybe it is the alcohol?). Taste is of coffee, chocolate, grapes, ash and a lot of booze. Hefty. Body is full and carbonation is low. Just too hot for me. A bit hard to drink and rough. Good but not great.

bottle shared by tom10101, thanks for this bro! pours unclear medium dark brown with a small light beige cap, reviving and leaving some lacing. tons of chocolatey hazelnuts, smoky raisins, resinous citrus, fruity berries, hint of smoke, integrated and never vegetal coffee, dense burnt caramel, clean english yeast, salt. moderate carbonation, medium body - oily; warming spicy-woodsy lightly smoky finish. solid coffee stout blend - lots of purple matter, fruit and roastiness.

Bottle (500 ml) shared tasting. Pitch black with a medium beige head, good retention, leaving some lacing. Aroma is of strong coffee, a bit vegetal, bitter chocolate, a bit of ashes and smoke, herbal hops and roast. Taste is sweet with rather strong coffee, vegetal notes, ashes, bitter chocolate, roasted malts and low bitterness. Medium to full body. Medium carbonation. A bit oily. Roasty finish. A bit of ashes in the aftertaste. Good but not great. Lack a bit of both balance and depth.

Pours black into a tulip. Mocha head recedes to hug rim. Milk chocolate and espresso aromas. Thick with dark chocolate, marshmallow and hot espresso front to back. Lasting warm mocha burn.

Pours a deep dark black color with a small reddish brwon head. Aromas of coffee, chocolate, with a hint of hops. Flavor has a lot of big chocolate taste, with some coffee, and I think a touch of smoke. A damn fine stout.

12/11/15. Bottle from Chan’s - Destin. Black pour with a small tan head. Rich aroma, roasted, ashy malts, coffee, dark chocolate. Great flavor, Danish stout indeed, rich, roasted, ashy malts, mild acidity, coffee, dark chocolate. Not bad!
