On tap @ Mikkeller bar. The aroma has sherry, coffee beans, roast and some wood. Black coloured beer with an off-white-beige head. The taste is bitter due to coffee beans, little boozy/winey with wood. Still quite smooth. Nice.

50cl bottle.
Pours black, with a large tan head.
Smells of chocolate, roasted malt, brown sugar, coffee,
Tastes of licorice, coffee, molasses, malt, and chocolate; a heavy sweetness with a medium bitter, and an initial pleasant aside of aniseed, which changes to be more chocolatey as it goes on.
Texture is oily, carbonation is active, body is full. Finishes very dry and somewhat bitter.
3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 15/20 hawthorne00 (1433) - Melbourne, AUSTRALIA - MAR 10, 2012
Bottle, 15C. Black with a large tan head. Aroma of sweet coffee, red berries, vanilla, roasted malt. Syrupy. Very sweet with lots of coffee that’s also a bit astringent. Berries are buried. Bitter and acrid at the end with some citrus and pine notes that don’t quite work for me with the rest of the beer.

Det här är en otroligt bra öl, jag skulle nästan vilja kalla den för ett fullständigt mästerverk. Smaken.. kraften... balansen... om man bara ska dricka en öl till i livet så skulle detta mycket väl kunna vara den. Slutsats: fantastisk.

Pours a pitch black color with a medium, creamy light brown head. Pleasant aroma of coffee and roasted malt along some sweetness and vanilla. Very good flavor of roasted malt, coffee, vanilla and some lingering, but moderate sweetness. The body is medium with a liquorous texture and soft carbonation. Two breweries I love join their efforts to make liquid happyness, I like it!
4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 jackl (706) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - DEC 26, 2011
Bottle. Pours dark brown with a massive brown head. The nose is of roasted malts, mellow coffee, chocolate, some vanilla. The taste is wonderfully smooth and sweet with a slightly bitter ashy finish. The mouthfeel is medium, the alcohol is hidden very well indeed. The carbonation is medium. Overall, a wonderfully smooth and subtle imperial stout.
