COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

Thx. to Vincent / Belgbeergeek for sharing. 500 ml. bottle sample - the name of this one sounds like Drie Fonteinen when pronounced in the murmur of the crowd, rather odd but unlikely that it was intentional. Dark brown with a tanned head. Heavy burned and roasted malts, nose, mocha, dark fruits, tad medicinal smell. Taste is lightly lactic, lighter burned coffee ground, mocha, creamy, milk chocolate, touch dark fruits. Body is a bit on the lighter side bit wondering off in the wrong direction but certainly not appalling or anything.

Bottle. A more or less black one, topped by a huge, creamy, light tan head. The aroma is smoked and burnt, with some dried fruits and chocolate, and some molasses and hop notes. The flavor has the same burnt and roasted as the aroma, with molassess and a quite lovely hoppy flavor. Full-bodied and lightly warming on the palate, finishing with cocoa and hops. A tasteful and complex beer of the kind I’d very much like to repeat. 120413

Aroma:Smelling roasted and burnt, grains, dark dried fruits, coffee and dark cocoa.
Appearance:The brew is dark brown or black, the head is light brown, very high and fluffy, leaves tonnes of lacing. Good curtains.
Flavor:The taste starts sweet, burned bread crust, dark sugar, dates and figs, strong acid coffee, black berries jam. High octane chocolate (86%+).
Palate:Medium carbonation, sticky and oily, a big body, a coarse sour dryness.
Overall:A lot of stuff in this beer, maybe too much, a lot of nuances screams for attention.
Note:Bottle 500 ml

black color, dark fruit, dark chocolate and whisky nose. Very smokey, vegetal, dark chocolate mouth. Very dry funky, strange taste, truely trying to do something a bit different from a Baltic Porter. Very dry. Interesting

Bottle. Pours a black color with a big tanned head. Smells like roasted coffee, alcohol and roasted malts. Lovely. Mouthfeel is thick and sticky and the flavor bursts with sweet molasses and alcoholic tones. Nice in balance and a great sipper.

Bottle @ omhper sampling. Thinn grey-brown lace. Dark-red-brown color. Thinn body and lots of dark-roasted malts that gets harsh. After taste is a litle sweet.

Bottle. Pours black with an excessive brown head with rather large bubbles. Smells of heavily roasted malts, chocolate and some soy sauce. Tastes of a medium sweetness, and a heavy roasted espresso bitterness. Medium-to-full bodied, soft carbonation, and a creamy/oily texture. Finishes oily with a mild bitterness.

Great scent of roasted malt and chocolate with delicious aromas from hops and with a nice smoky tone. The taste has a distinct but soft smoky tone with hints of roasted malt, dark chocolate, coffee and licorice. A very delicious beer!
