3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Thanks to blutt59 for sharing this bottle. Pours an orange brown with an off-white head. The aroma has some harsh hop notes as well as some toffee. The flavor is different than the aroma. I get a lot of cherries and other dark fruit, as well as some toffee and caramel malt. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation.

25cl bottle thanks to Papsoe. (bb2010) Dark brown color with thin head. Taste is medium bitter, sweet and light sour. Carbonation is soft. Aroma is coffee, chocolate, alcohol, mushrooms, dried fruits, light vinegar... maybe too old? I prefered the Kølle...

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle bbd September 2010. Clear brown pour, small tanned head. Aroma is of leather, tobacco and light bourbon notes. Flavor is very sweet, malty and there is definitely some oak in there. Quite nice, but I guess this is too old.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle at the May De Molen monthly tasting. Poured a murky dark brown with a very thin off white head. The aroma is rich fruity resinous and alcoholic. The flavour is strong liquorice bitter, some sweetness, a little coffee and some dry sawdust in the palate. Rather nice to taste, but I’m not sure I’d buy a bottle.

Bottle @ De Molen. Smells caramel, tastes banana, caramel, bourbon all together. Soft aftertaste, remarkably light given its alcoholic graduation.

25cl bottle. Courtesy of Papsoe. Wood and liquor aromas. pours copper, hazy, with poor offwhite head, vanishing, some lacing. Medium body, soft carbonation, oily texture. Taste is liquor, cognac, some raisins, nuts, malty, more or less balanced. Begins sweet and finishes quite dry and bitter. Interesting one.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
8th January 2012
Opaque brown beer with a big cream coloured head. Softish palate, semi dry. Mild fine carbonation. Rich malt with lactose cream. Coconut, mildly toasted. Something that tastes like wood from a Cognac barrel. Dark fruits. Finishes semi dry. Not quite as sophisticated as it’s sibling but still very nice.
