COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
English (from Google translate): Take a good thing and makes it even better - it is the philosophy behind the Amager MurpHill. The good thing is our more than solid Amager Rye Porter, which we have poured in bourbon casks. Here it has been around 6 months, which has turned an already soft rye porter with pleasant hints of vanilla, wood, and of course warm bourbon. If you wonder about the name, we can reveal that this beer is named after two of the most talented American brewers Shaun Hill and Mike Murphy, who with their presence in this country has enriched Danish brewing culture in incredible degree. Shaun and Mike is the mastermind behind our Rye Porter / MurpHill project, and it is with absolute pride that this beer is named in their honor

holy dak! shared a batch 122 bottle on 1/25/2010. horrendously black and murky with a brown head and tons of foamy lacing. unreal aroma!... so sweet, fruity, bourbon-y spiced, chocolate, ashy roast, barrel smoothness, vanilla, minerals and a touch of umami...wow! the flavor is more awesomeness.... a little autolyzed/savory, super chocolatey, vanilla scented tobacco, bitter roast, dirty earthy hops, bourbon-y spice, raisins and a touch of coffee with a bitter finish. lingering aftertaste of ashy cocoa...mmm. all of these characteristics sit behind a blanket of bitter drying hops... dayum! medium to full body with the perfect level of carbonation... beautiful beer! 110/5/9/5/19/4.8

Bottle shared like a G by daknole -- word! Pours a viscous shade of black with a trim brown head. Smells awesome -- loaded with raisins, vanilla, and cocoa. Tastes of each with a note of tobacco on the mid palate. Bitter hops and coffee grounds round out the flavor. Great stuff.

huge want knocked off my list by the one and only Papsoe! thank you! pours a thick opaque brown black witha nice brown head that gives a solid 2-3mm with just a swirl, beautiful! big rye and pumpernickle type nose, roasty, bready, earthy, sweet. the taste is much more dense and bold, a huge thick oily body, and tons of lingering roastiness. again i love the offset that the yeast plays in what could easily be an imperial stout. that top fermenting yeast picks it up just enough for it not to be gloomy and burdensome. great stuff, hope to get more!

Bottle@Home. Beautiful aroma, great looks, on the sweet side but I like that in an IS. Complex, loads of licorice, chocolate and coffee liqueur.

UPDATED: SEP 20, 2009 Shared with evil stepdad. Nice opague black look with a decent brown head leaving lacings. Powerfull aroma of piney hops, loads of liquirice, hard roasted malts adding the usual coffee and chocolate. Also has some earthy and wooden notes. Flavor is quite salty with a nice roasted bitterness along with some bitterness from the fresh hops. All in all a blend that made it taste abit like cough syrup. Worked for me though!

Draught. [Beer festival 2009] Large creamy beige head that mostly lasted. Good display of lacework. Pitch black color. Quite the same characteristic as the Rug Porter but with the added notes from the Bourbon barrel. Aroma of vanilla, wood, Bourbon, roasted malt, liquorish, chocolate, mild coffee, dried fruity and light vinous notes as well. Over the palate came light notes of grape, pine and floral combined with some English liquorish like feel. Full bodied with an average carbonation and again creamy smooth and lovely texture. Moderated sweet and bitter that was just so well balanced. Lingering creamy roasted and English liquorish finish. Excellent!
