37.5cl bottle. Batch 100. Small light bubbly beige head that mostly dimished. Spare display of lacework. Pitch black color. Aroma of wood, liquorish, roasted malt, dried fruit, coffee. Very smooth malty over the palate. Extremely nice. Full bodied with a soft carbonation. Heavy sweet with some counter bitterness. Lingering wood and liquorish coffee finish.

Bottle, 375ml corked. A gorgeous looking beer, more or less black in color and topped by a cute light tan head. The aroma has some alcohol and booze, with lots of roasted malts, coffee, some chocolate, a faint hint of lime, and some vanilla. It’s equally complex in the flavor, but I don’t think it’s equally wonderful. Still lovely though. Alcohol, roasted malts, coffee and some chocolate, vanilla and oak. Full-bodied, soft and pleasantly warming on the palate. Super-lasting finish with all the good things found in initially. A wonderul beer, that’s for sure. Pity I won’t be able to have it once more. 120525

Bottle courtesy of nimbleprop brought to Churchkey. Thanks! Poured a near pitch-black color with a small wispy off-white head. Aroma is some barrel, vanilla notes, with plenty of chocolate notes. Really enjoyed this one.

375ml bottle pours an oily, opaque black with some creamy, beige head. Nose is big, smokey, light rubber, malt, cherry, a little celery. Flavor is sweet, caramel, chocolate, coffee, burnt malt, toast, light cherry, strong red grapes, rum, a little mushroom. Full bodied but smooth finish.
