COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

37,5 cl bottle @ home. Batch #245: BBE 2022
Aroma is slightly sour with oaky notes, some rubber and hints of lactic acid. Flavour is sweetish and salty with oaky notes, rubber, salt and licorice. Too salty and rather weird too.

375 ml bottle. Batch #245. BBE 2022.
Pours deep dark brown color with minimal head. Aroma of bourbon, ash, leather, salt and liquorice. Flavor of salt and lots of salt, cocoa, vanilla, burnt malts, chocolate and creamy salmiac. Smooth creamy and salty palate with dryish finish. Not bad but obviously the strong salt flavour was not intentional.

375ml bottle from Ølbutikken, Copenhagen

Pours pitch black with virtually no head at all. Aroma of spices, sweet roasty malts, syrup, sugary notes. Taste is sweet and salty with some licorice, oak, hints of roasty and syrupy notes. Finish is salty and sweetish, hints of roastiness. Unbalanced, too salty and sweet for my taste.

375 ml bottle. Batch #245.
Pours a dark brown colour with a small head. Aroma of roasted malts, coconut and honey. Flavour of roasted malts, strong salty licorice, burnt rubber, wood, coconut, syrup and really, really strong salt. Medium bodied, soft carbonation and silky smooth mouthfeel. Really disturbing salty, coconut and leather-like finish. Weird, weird and weird. Saltiness does not fit in at all, even though I usually like it.

Bottle, 375ml corked. A more or less black one, topped by a dense, finger-thick dark beige to light tan head. The aroma has a solid dose of port, with roasted malts, coffee notes, a little alcohol and some hoppy notes. Or is it something else than hops? Lightly salty on the palate, full-bodied, soft and with some warmth. Coffee, port, bitterness and dark chocolate. Lasting finish with roasted malts and salty licorice. Some soy notes too. Liquid joy. 120804

maneliquor (3112) - Perth, AUSTRALIA - JUL 27, 2012
Bottle from Mane Liquor. Pours dirty, dark brown with a few bubbles sitting on top. Nose is quite sweet, with vinous notes and loads of fig and sticky date. Oats sit behind it all. Quite appealing but nothing overly exciting about it. Very sweet to start with and gradually gets sweeter before it quickly tapers off to a soft, short bitterness. Sticky but thin mouth feel. Not very boozy for the 9% abv. Sticky date and chocolate port tones surround the mouth. Mouth gets coated with a dryness. Not bad but nothing wows me, solid
