COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

Opaque black beer, good tan head. Softish semi dry palate. Rich malt - silky and barleywine like. Small amounts of roast and licorice. Nicely joined up red berry fruits from the Port Barrel, integrated very well indeed. Trace of hops before the semi dry finish. Lovely!

Bottle shared with BBGTC. Pours a viscous black producing a small dark-tanned head. Aroma is oxidized, burnt grains and liquorice. Hints of wood, port, ash, leather and soy-sauce. Taste is sweet with loads of roast, ash and liquorice. Slight alcoholic note and a salty touch. Full body and just above softly carbonated.

Bottle, shared with BBGTC. Pours a jet black body with a large creamy long-lasting light beige head. Nose is leather, licorice, milk chocolate, nougat, pepper, raisins, alcohol, hints of coffee, dry chalk and port wine. Taste is licorice, leather, caramel, wood, port wine, hints of soy sauce, grains and alcohol. Medium to full body, medium carbonation. Pleasantly aged, this imperial porter takes on both distinct barrel aging features as well as mellow oxidation. Enjoyable.

Bottle. Pours black, with a creamy brown head. Aroma is mellow roasted malts, with bread and chocolate, as well as tobacco, dark fruits, oak barrels, and notes of red wine and coffee. Body is big and full, with a texture so thick it could easily be enjoyed by spoon. Soft to no carbonation. Flavour is sweet roasted malts, grain and bread, tobacco, cocoa and wooden barrels, as well as port wine, muscovado and some alcohol burn. Sweet tobacco notes in the finish.

Sample @ RBWG Grand Tasting. Brown pour with a small head. Fire pit ash, robust licorice and anise character. The taste isn’t really my thing. More anise. Some chocolate. Hints of something like ginger. Full body, soft carbonation.
