Sample at SBWF and a bottle at home. I had different experiences with this one. First I tried the bottle at home and it was horrible. Funky smell with sulfur and similar smells. The taste was extremely bitter with no hop aroma at all. I considered the beer infected and gave it another chance on tap at SBWF. It was allot better. Freshly hoppy with a more balanced bitterness and nice hop aroma. I wonder what they did to the bottles they sent out to Systembolaget. I have many friends with the exact same experience as me, but also some that had good experience with it. The rating above is from the draught beer at SBWF.

500 ml bottle. Batch #475. BB 08/2013. (Systembolaget) Östersund, Sweden.
Cloudy orange golden colour with small white head. Incredibly delicious fruity and citrusy hoppy aroma with tangerine and mandarin. Balanced and tempting. Flavour is a bit more harsh with resin and citrusy hops, lots of bitterness and deep strong hoppiness. Balanced and tasty. Excellent IPA.

Bottle. Hazy (but forgot to write down the colour) with a white head leaving lacing. Aroma: some kind of tropical fruit, grainy, pepper, grapefruit. Taste: very bitter, the white stuff under grapefruit peel, heavy resin, light spicy, quite a sweet maltiness, maybe with some honey, dry finish. Medium-bodied. A bit harsh in the bitterness, and to be fair, I had expected more from this collaboration.

500 ml bottle bought @ Systembolaget. Pours clear golden with a frothy and fluffy white head that slowly dissipates while leaving lots of sticky trace and lacing on the glass. Smell is fruity and hoppy with peaches, apricots, grapefruit juice, lemon hard candy, freshly cut grass, papaya, pineapple, tropical fruit hard candy and hints of caramel and pine. Taste is slightly sweet and bitter with bread, pine, resinous wood, grapefruit juice, orange peal, gooseberries, lemon peal, cereal, freshly cut grass and hints of caramel. Mouthfeel is round, slightly astringent, tiny flat and medium bodied. Finish is tiny sweet and bitter with unripe tropical fruits, orange peal, grapefruit rinds, freshly cut grass, wood and pine.

From a 500ml bottle on 9/10/2012. Pours a light, slightly murky golden with a medium head. Certainly doesn’t look much like an IPA in the glass. The aroma is quite pleasant and sweet, with floral and fruity notes (passionfruit and lychee), and a little fairy floss. The flavour is really big - lots of sweet sweet orange and some light caramel are set off against lemon, grapefruit and peel. The bitterness is really intense, with a herbal, resiny, piney, slightly salty hop finish which seems to linger forever. The body is medium. This is a cracking, quite distinctive IPA. The only vague reference point I have is the old recipe BrewDog Punk IPA, but this is more intense still. The bitterness will be too much for some, but this is a must try for any hop head.
