COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Hood, Hersbrücker, Challenger, Fuggles, Liberty, Styrian Goldings, Columbus, Chinook, Amarillo, Bramling Cross, East Kent Goldings, Willamette, Palisade, Saaz, First Gold, Pacific Gem og Northern Brewer.

Bottle. Wow. Deep dark orange pour, initially almost clear but with some particles. Foamy, creamy beige head. Extremely complex hop aroma with floral notes, grass, citrus, earth, wood, pine and some blue cheese. Very bitter flavor, almost jaw quenching like only acidity can. A finish like there has never been any. Almost could not distinguish between having the beer still in my mouth or having gulped it down already, the whole goods were still there and stayed there. Very creamy and smooth texture and decent carbonation. I tried an other sample with the yeast poured out as well, and that was even slightly better with the yeast somewhat softening the sharp hop edges. Excellent brew.

UPDATED: MAY 7, 2009 Hazy amber with a huge beige creamy head. Aroma was very hoppy with a nice malt base, grapefruit and lemons. Extremely nice vinious and very hoppy flavour along with pine, grapefruit, toasted malt, spices, caramel, lemon and peachy notes. I even got a bit of pebber from those hops. Finished seriously bitter. This one simply gets better and better. A master piece!

Big thanks to madsberg for shipping this beauty over. Pours hazy deep copper with full tan head. The aroma is spicy hops, citrus bitterness, resiny pine sap and just noticeable amounts of caramel and malt sweetness in the background. The taste is robust with grassy to piney hop bitterness moving into more and more resiny bitterness and backed up by a thin layer of malt sweetness and a dash of caramel. This is a full robust bitterly hoppy brew kept in check by a mild level of malty sweetness and pleasing hop flavor. Wow. Loved it.

UPDATED: OCT 5, 2010 Bottle, tfs Vaiz! Thick as the night brown pour, creamy tanned head. Absolutely extreme rich, complex, full and wide ranging hops aroma. Each sniff opens a new world. Not everyone as pleasant, but there are some really good ones in there. And besides that, there’s coffee, liquorice, smoke and oak as well. Wow. Flavour is massive as well, very complex, intense bitterness yet very drinkable. Bitter flavours linger on for at least the next three beers. Frikkin’ awesome. Drink it with the yeast to smooth it down a bit and get some more body.

500ml bottle. Deep red with a lasting soft off white head. Pine, grapefruit and orange on the nose. Powerful bitterness, grapefruit and marmelade - like two props in a scrum. There’s some piney-resin, alcohol and a hint of caramel

Slightly hazy red copper with a big and lasting off-white head. Intense aroma of perfumed hops, dominated by pine on top of fruity and grassy notes. Biscuit malty backbone, lots of bitterness and grassy, spicy hops flavour with a little grapefruit.

Bottle from Ølfabrikken. A hop bomb, sure, but it is well balanced, and you sit there sipping, contemplating all the nuances. All the 23 hop varieties join the chorus, and they are matched in a way that they don’t kill each other. A classic.
