from Erzbierschof - pretty dirty and cloudy dark amber colour under a solid and long lasting beige foam; lot of piney hops with notes of red fruit marmalade; some sweetness and a fair malt backbone; very bitter yet never aggressive; slightly dry and with a long piney hoppy finish; long lasting; sticky palate, notes of peaches
4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20 Maris (751) - Canberra, AUSTRALIA - NOV 10, 2012
From a 500ml bottle on 11/11/2012 (batch number 064, date 06/2013, which I assume is the best before date). Fours a dirty, cloudy amber with just a hint of head. The aroma is very powerful, with sharp notes of tropical and stone fruit notes (passionfruit, pineapple, apricot), along with a big dose of piney hops. The flavour is similarly intense, beginning with sweet fruit (apricot and pineapple again, as well as orange), honey and marmelade, though it’s the hops that hold sway. The bitterness is long, resiny and quite spicy, and possibly too intense for some. There some smokey saltiness in the mix. I note this appears to divide opinions, but I’m a fan, and admire its character, complexity and intensity.
4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Alexus (239) - Stavanger, NORWAY - NOV 2, 2012
Shared bottle @ Cardinal. Pours hazy golden in color with a small white head. Complex aroma and flavors, no doubt because of the 30 different hop types that goes into this brew. You need to try this one out for yourself. A truely great brew!

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 14/20 BarossaLuke (498) - AUSTRALIA - OCT 3, 2012
Big full bodied hop and malt aroma and palate. Lots of piney, resiny hop aroma with complex stonefruits too. A heavy, malt driven palate with plenty pf hop flavour and balanced bitterness.
1.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 5/20 fletchfighters (817) - AUSTRALIA - OCT 2, 2012
Retired tick on the shelf in Sydney. Figures.
500 ML bottle
Murky orange brown color. Rocky off white head that falls to a thick film with some spotty lacing.
Pine, orange, almond or hazelnut and bubblegum nose with waves of alcohol.
Harsh, bitter pine, overripe orange and grapefruit, odd nutty taste and somewhat dusty tasting.
Lots of alcohol, overly bitter, strange malt backbone, and a heavy sort of alcohol weight to this.
Odd as heck not very pleasant
4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 abemorsten (1854) - Mosterøy, NORWAY - AUG 26, 2012
Shared 0,5 l bottle at Cardinal. Pours a misty orange body with a white film. Super complex aroma. Toe sweat, orange marmelade, smokey broth and tropical fruits on the nose. Hoppy, aniseed, allspice, earthy, salty and meaty notes in the flavor. Full bodied and smooth. Really good beer.
4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 Palme (2252) - Bergen, NORWAY - AUG 15, 2012
0.5l bottle from #364 bought at Barley Wine. This is a cloudy deep copper-peachy beer with a medium sized bubbly and lacing beige head. My god this is a fruity and peachy hop-aroma! Almost like peach ice tea! Lots and lots of fruity hops with citrus, raspberries, clear apricots (something I often have trouble finding in these kind of beers) and a thick sweet malty thing binding it all together. Really nice! The taste is just as good as the aroma lead to beleive. It’s almost licorice-sweet from all the malts. It’s thick and has a heavy oily texture, and the carbonation level is just perfect. Stingy and hoppy with clear references to red light acidic fruits, and that licorice thing is just so damn present in this one! One amazing brew! 05.07.2012
4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 Sigmund (4166) - Tau, NORWAY - JUL 17, 2012
500 ml bottle, batch #364, will soon be available at Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 9.0%. Cloudy amber to brown colour, moderate off-white head. Very complex hoppy aroma, notes of nearly every fruit and fir tree on the planet (30 different hop varieties, actually - insane!). Also sweetish notes of malts. The flavour is not too sweet (but has still noticeable malts), and is a veritable hoppy bonanza throughout - with notes of smoked (peated?) malts in the finish and aftertaste. The bitterness is very distinct as expected, but still not too extreme.
