COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

Sampled at CBF11 Golden with a small, white head. Citrus; grapefruit dominating in both aroma and flavour. Pretty sweet.

Tap @ Monks Porterhouse Stockholm. Clear reddish amber with a thick cream white head that lace. Aroma: Sweet and hoppy with a lot of caramel. Fruit candy, strawberry jam, gelehallon and litchi up front with grapefruit and peach coming later with pine needles. Taste: Sweet hoppy with lots of caramel and berry jam, marmalade and a piney resinous bitterness that is smoother than expected. Quite big body with a sticky mouthfeel and soft carbonation. Very sweet and berryish and not as aggressive as I thought it would be. All those hops actually works quite well but it gets a bit confused and flimsy.

(50 cl bottle from Gunnar Madsen Vinhandel, batch 364, BBD June 2013) Pours a clear amber with medium white head, lace and nice retention. Aroma is hoppy to the extreme but the effect is not as fruity or floral as I would have expected rather yielding something very compressed in its complexity and with some unexpected odours that range from grassy bitter to sour and cheesy. I agree with previous reviewers about the unfortunate manure edge unfortunately - it seems to wear off if you let it rest a little in the glass though. Oily texture, medium carbonation, explosive body and an intensely bitter finish that has funnyily atypical notes of licorice on my palate. Taste is dry, compressed bitterness through the roof. Kudos from a hophead forthe experiment in any case. Girlfriend says: "Puha! My tongue is completely coated with it."

Bottle. From memory: Cloudy amber to copper colour. Small off-white head. And bang! Hop punch! The aroma is a literal smash that makes you pull out your nose quickly and then dip in again. Lots of everything, some grass and floral tones mixed with grapefruit and orange and pine and... There some caramel sweetness coming through as well. Taste is equally assertive. Fairly sweet with a strong bitterness and a robust body. Nice, but I think I’ll share the next bottle with a friend.

Bottle. Pours a nice golden orange color with alot of hop haze and an off white head. Quite an interesting IPA, I get alot strawbeery like notes in the aroma along with lychee, I also get grapefruit and light pineapple notes, along with some subtle caramel malty and bready notes. The flavor is really bitter which up front gives flavors of strawberry and lychee, that then turns into more of a pine flavor with some floral notes. I also get notes of pineapple and grapefruit with a touch of orange and an almost sweaty flavor. The body is medium with a very dry mouthfeel. Overall a quite unique and interestinf DIPA, I never thought 30 different vareties of hops would work, but somehow it does.

Clear reddish brown with no head. Slightly vegetably-medicinal nose with loads of hops, soft alcohol, mixed fruit. Very bitter flavor with lots of malt, quite ashy, barnyardy, reminds me of a barrel-aged British Strong Ale. Quite full body, low CO2, warming. Too much of everything.

09-SEP-2011, bottle @home from "Fish & Beer". Amber, almost clear but with a touch of fine sediments. Lasting beige head, nice. Nose is extreme. Bitter, sweat’y, chees’y, hoppy. Taste is hoppy bitter. Brutal... Caramel and bread backs up the hops. Again fantastic experiment from the locals:)

Draught at Ørsted, Copenhagen
Clean amber color; creamy head. The aroma is initially cheesy, then followed by a more expected aroma of hops, some sweat, but still cheesy in the end. Good body, but the mouthfeel eventually is a bit dusty; strong caramel flavor with toffee, light residual sweetness, strong bitterness, rather aggressive, with loads of resins, some fruits, but really chaotic and without a clear direction; harsh final.
A dirty hopjuice.

Drought @ Mikkeller bar. Clear orange pour, thin off-white head. Aroma is cheesy hops, blue cheese and sweaty socks. Why do I still like this? Flavor is bitter, grassy, some floral hops, fruity and again a bit sweaty. A little too much sweat after all.

Medium offwhite head. Amber body. Fruity earthy spicy pineapple aroma with alcoholic notes. Dry-sweet resiny pineapple spicy taste with herbal grape and oranges notes. Fullish body. Mild, slightly hot mouthfeel. Dry-bitter oranges pineapple and resin aftertaste with earthy citric notes. A bit overdone, and some disturbing flavours I can’t analyze. Still good. Incredibly, ridiculously aromatic. (0.5l bottle, Fish & Beer, Copenhagen.)
