3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle 50 cl from www.erzbierschof.ch. Beer orange-fire, bouquet of hops, malt toffy. Creamy with notes of resin, citrus, orange, toast but also floral and fruity hints. Just in balance between the very maléted sweetness and the very well marked bitterness. Beautiful length in mouth for a beer which is appreciate in each mouthful,

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottled 50cl. It pours a murky nut brown beer with a decent head. A lot of boletus throughout. Musty. Reminiscence of stuffy sitting room components. Good bitterness. Balanced. Chlorine sneaking in. Caramel, citrusy hops and boletus in the finish which is dryish, far from being bitter. I liked black nitro a lot more.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
courtesy of Toni Flükiger - cloudy reddish-orange colour with a little beige foam left; a robust hoppy aroma with notes of red fruits marmalade, cream and resin; thick and full-bodied, a fair carbonation, a solid bitterness and a long malty and hoppy finish with notes of raspberries, quinces and pine needles - a very nice one

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
UPDATED: NOV 16, 2010 Bottle. It’s a hazy, dark golden beer topped by a finger thick, dense, beige head. Slightly too sweetish on the nose, with malts, resins and pine cones. Something peaty detected too, something I obviously thought of as anise in the second rating. The flavor is mostly bitter, resins and pine cones, but there’s a nice, sweet maltyness to support the hops. It’s smooth, full-bodied and nicely carbonated. The finish is of the lasting kind, and mostly bitter, even though the sweetness isn’t missing either. A tasteful and dangerously easy drinkable beer. Rating: 7-4-8-4-15-3.8. 100827
Bottle. It’s a clear, dark golden beer topped by a finger-thick off-white head. Pine cones, citrus peel and caramel on the nose. A hint of anise lurks in the far back. The flavor is sweet, but with enough hops to make sure it’s far from cloying. Pine cones and citrus peel, and that anise hint I also found in the aroma. Full-bodied, nicely carbonated and quite smooth. Bitter, anise and pine cones finish that lasts. Amager promises, and Amager delivers. A beer I wish I could have enjoyed with some of my BBQ dinners this summer. 100924
