COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

English: Amager Rye Porter is the result of fruitful cooperation between the best of Danish and American brewing cultures. It’s base is made of hard roasted malts and 16% rye. It adds a fantastic sweetness, and a titillating spicy edge, which, combined with a subtle and balanced acidity, is reminiscent of rye bread. This is not a beer for the weak, we’re pleased with the outcome and hope you will be too

Nice full body with good carbonation. Rye is fairly prominent in the aroma and taste. Finish is quite bitter. An interesting and very enjoyable porter.

Bottled 500ml batch 461 BB 06/2015@Beer Hunters
Dark opaque black color, tiny off-white head. Its aroma is toasted, licoricey and dark malty. Medium to full-bodied. Quite velvety palate. Licorice, toasted malts, soft ryeish touch. Rye bread aftertaste. Another high-quality brew from Amager. One minus: perharps some vegetable notes lurking.

500ml bottle. Pitch black body, medium chocolatey head, dense and with excellent retention, beautiful comb like lacing. Aroma of dark vanilla chocolate, burned caramel, a light espresso touch, molasses, toast and a touch of floral hops. Taste of burned sugar, rye toast, wood charcoal, molasses, dark fruits, slightly alcoholic, a late shy hop bitterness. Slightly oily body, a little bit heavy , but still delicious.

Single from the LCBO, written "Rye Porter" on front label. Pours an almost black colour with a creamy and bubbly mocha head with great retention and lots of foamy thick lace. Beautiful aromas of roasted malts, chocolate, coffee and molasses. Starts rich, but calms down after a few minutes. Balanced mouthfeel between wet and oily, with a little stickiness to it. Alcohol is well-hidden by the light bitterness in the finish. Burnt malt taste with notes of anise, rye and molasses. Lots of debris left in the bottom of the bottle. A nice twist on the Imperial Porter with the rye. Well-brewed.

Pour black enough with a foamy fine bubbled brownish head. Has a big aroma, filled with roast and toast and a hint of chocolate but there is a nice grainy or cereal or oats aroma that I really enjoy. On the palate it is rich, roasty and has a certain bite sports a long finish. Tasty stuff.
