COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

English: Amager Rye Porter is the result of fruitful cooperation between the best of Danish and American brewing cultures. It’s base is made of hard roasted malts and 16% rye. It adds a fantastic sweetness, and a titillating spicy edge, which, combined with a subtle and balanced acidity, is reminiscent of rye bread. This is not a beer for the weak, we’re pleased with the outcome and hope you will be too

Bottle from the local taphouse shop. Exceptional, nice spicy notes. Aromas of caramel, chocolate, vanilla, notes of liquorice, chilli. Taste is sweet and bitter, with very long length. Palate is creamy, spicey, and full bodied. Black, with a frothy head.

Trump! This brew is very special indeed. From the rich aromatics of chocolate to the density of body which lays across my tongue like melted cocoa with perfectly creamy carbonation. This brew is incredible. I would’nt say the rye portion was noticeable in an obvious way but I’m sure without it the balance on this very chocolate malt forward brew would not exist. The finish lingers forever. Despite this brew richness it is very drinkable. Do yourself a favor and try this sometime. You won’t regret it.

Simply amazing. Deep cocoa and sweet chocolate, fresh cereals and black bread aromas. Perfect bittersweet taste, with hints of coffee, cream and toffee in the back. Impressive, probably the best imperial porter I’ve ever tasted.

Wow! This was one powerful brew. I enjoyed it on cask at Tap and Mallet. Definitely the smoothest beer I’ve ever had. It’s a bit like chewing on a coffee bean, though. The nose and flavor is like drinking straight espresso in beer form, but darker and more bitter. There was some dark chocolate in the bouquet as well. It exhausts the palate quickly, that’s for sure. Beware, it’s pretty strong and packs quite a punch.

Nearly black pour with a light brown head. Aroma is unreal. Molasses, prunes, dark raisins, toffee, coffee, chocolate and booze. Flavor is sweet and boozy. Chocolate, molasses, prunes, italian roast coffee and vanilla. Awesome shit.

Ar: vanilla, firm but soft coffee, dark and milk chocolate, roastiness, alcohol, soft, refined and lovely cloaked in a soft spiciness. Ap: black colour, medium Brown head, ridiculousy creamy, lacing. F: spicy, roastiness, burnt and black malts, soft licorice, again extremely refined and sophisticated. P: just lovely! T: this is not in your face fantastic, it is refined, subtle but still, just as impressing!

batch 199 mindst 3/13...another treat dished out by dakine on 5/31/10. muchas gracias, amigo. thick opaque pour is orange-brown tinted black with a tan head. lots of spotty lacing remains. it smells ashy... but really soft/mellow smoky mixed with some vinous sour raisins, vanilla, wood (mmm... woody porter!), toasted nuts, dark chocolate, molasses and florals. holy crap, this is good stuff!... flavors of molasses, roast, coffee, vanilla, smoked malt, earthy yeast, florals, wood, rubber, chocolate and some prunes. creamy, crisp, smooth and yummy. 9/4/9/5/18/4.5

(500ml bottle, best before March 2013) Almost pitch black, big beige head that leaves lots of lacing on the glass. Well rounded aroma of roasted coffee and milk chocolate. Incredibly smooth and well balanced taste, medium sweet/bitter. Some alcohol in the finish. Low carbonation but a full body. This bottle was a couple of years old and I must say it has aged quite gracefully. Some of the rougher edges have worn off making it a very smooth but equally enjoyable experience as a fresher bottle.
