COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

English: Amager Rye Porter is the result of fruitful cooperation between the best of Danish and American brewing cultures. It’s base is made of hard roasted malts and 16% rye. It adds a fantastic sweetness, and a titillating spicy edge, which, combined with a subtle and balanced acidity, is reminiscent of rye bread. This is not a beer for the weak, we’re pleased with the outcome and hope you will be too

Appearance: inky dark, pretty viscous, with a short, near purple creamy froth of head, vanishing quickly. Aroma: licorice up front, then some dark chocolate, soy sauce, and molasses. Taste: bittersweet, VERY dark chocolate up front, with a smooth black licorice/molasses note under that, then some vanilla, then a hint of black bread. Finish: long-lasting and slightly sweet, with licorice the most prominent note. Notes: Sticky, smooth, and rich. Would have liked a little more heat from the rye, and it felt a little more like a straight Baltic Porter than I’d expected, but it was still darn good. Bottle from Knightly Spirits in Orlando, Florida.

The beer pours a very dark brown with a creamy brown head. The aroma is rye, cocoa, and licorice. The mouthfeel is creamy, fuill bodied, with average carbonation. The flavour is cocoa, rye, spices, and a hint of licorice.

Bue en bouteille de 50cl, couleur noire, mousse marron effervescence inexistante. Une grosse attaque sur le café et le caramel, mais pas assez bien équilibrée avec l’acidité de la bière. Un peu trop amère en fin de bouche.

Atlanta, Ga. - Hop City - 500 ml bottle. Dark brown-black with a nice mocha colored head with light lacing. Aroma has some licorice, some slight booziness and molasses. Flavor of chocolate, licorice, creosote and light molasses. Thickish mouthfeel. Pretty solid.

Big khaki head on motoroil beer. OK label, big bottle. Rich, roast aroma, vaporous, dark cocoa, a little rye sting. Molasses, dark sugars, herbs, licorice, a little bittersweet chocolate, leathery. Interesting. Warming. Thanks to PorterPounder.

Bottle. Very dark brown with not much of a head. Fantastic aroma of chocolate, licorice, light coffee, some bread-ish and toasted qualities also . The flavour is sweet with caramel, chocolate, roast malt and licorice. The body is close to full. So smooth and so delicious.

A very dark brown, almost black beer with a medium and beige head. A yeast particles in the glass. The great aroma with lots of enjoyable chocolate, coffee and some liquirice, rich and dark bread in the background. Complex taste has roastiness, salt liquirice, some chocolate, spicyness of rye combined together with herbal hops that turns the end to personal and aggressive. Medium+ bodied, drinkable. The great and challenging beer, not a cream candy, more like of rough enjoyment.

Black with big, foamy, coffee head, fine lacing / Deep, intense nose of dark fruit, coffee, molasses, coconut / Full body, chewy, inky, sweet but with excellent balance, smooth and creamy, with long finish and a hint of bitterness / Flavors of plum, prune, dark roast coffee, fruit bread, cream, grass, lemon, caramel, rye / A real beauty. The difference between this sort of porter and an imperial stout escape me.
