COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

English: Amager Rye Porter is the result of fruitful cooperation between the best of Danish and American brewing cultures. It’s base is made of hard roasted malts and 16% rye. It adds a fantastic sweetness, and a titillating spicy edge, which, combined with a subtle and balanced acidity, is reminiscent of rye bread. This is not a beer for the weak, we’re pleased with the outcome and hope you will be too

Keg @ Holy Grale. Deep brown with a tiny head. The nose is pretty sweet. Hershey’s chocolate syrup, dark roasted coffee. Burnt wood. Nice woody spiciness to the flavor. Almost herbal, some licorice and milk chocolate. Smooth, fat body. Nice.

pours unclear very dark brown, red tint with a small light beige head showing some retention and lacing. minty resin, chocolatey smoked malts, dark brown malts, husky spiciness, spicy blackberries and raisins - hint of tartness, cigars, burnt hazelnuts, dark bitter chocolate, ashy and metallic, booze, molasses, burnt caramel, moderate sweetness. moderate carbonation, medium body - oily and sticky, bold, assertive and harsh peppery-resinous medium long finish.

500ml bottle. Pours almost black, with a one finger tan head. Heavy aromas of molasses, raisin, light cinnamon, dark chocolate, light acidic notes, and sponge toffee. Smells SO delicious. As for taste, HUGE rich molasses notes with a mineral streak up front that leads into light ash, light fruity notes, with some very forward bitterness in the dry finish. The beer is GIANT. If I’m learning anything, it’s that the brewers of Scandinavia like their dark beer exactly like I do. This is excellent.

Dark beer with a frothy brown head. Sweet nose with some roasted grains. This is a very sweet porter with lots of brown sugar and molasses, sweetened coffee, and milk chocolate. Some puffed grain softness and some rye bite in the finish. Very tasty, full flavored porter.

2014-04-29. Black body w a nice creamy brown head and lace. 4+ Flavour is fairly bitter, roasty dark malt lingers in the finish with a dry bitterness. Fruity lightly vinous undertones. Alcohol presence grows as it warms up. Aroma is lightly alcoholic with mild fruity accents and light grainy touches. Smooth medium bodied palate, moderate carbonation. Pretty solid. Bottle from the LCBO as Amager Rye Porter, Toronto

Draft - Toffee, malty, chocolate and a bit of molasses. Jet black with a thin brown head. Raisin and dark fruit, rye grain and a sweet light bitter finish. There is also a nutty flavour. Very nice and complex with no booze for such a big beer.
