COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

English: Maybe you feel it already, when the cap is removed and you put your nose to the bottle - this " Stout " smells different than what you are accustomed to. We have dry hopped this stout in the late stages of fermentation using the American noble varieties of Nugget , Centennial and Cascade, which allow the floral tones that make this a characteristic Stout - flavours of roasted malt give both lightness and freshness.
The glass appears Sundby Stout black , while the head is tight, light brown and almost cappuccino creamy, the tongue senses both malt sweetness, hints of bitter dark chocolate and English liquorice. Sweetness, however, cleverly balances the hard roasted malt and the split , umalted and roasted barley , which both help to give beer its roasted flavor. Sundby Stout is a classic " Stout ", which nonetheless dares to be different and challenge convention.
Ingredients: Water, barley malt , hops, and yeast

From bottle, gift from friend, poured into shaker pint glass

Aroma: citrus, herbs, chocolate,

Appearance: black, clear, tan foam,

Taste: medium sweetness, lightly bitter,

Palate: full body, slick feel, average carbonation,

Overall: Not a bad stout. Lots of sweet and chocolate taste. Nice body and color. Pretty solid stout. A tad sweeter than I expected. Some citrus piney hop aroma that dissipates fast.

Bottle (BB 12/2015). Dark brown body (less dark than your average stout) with a small head. Aroma has warm roast with hints of coffee, also some very light hints of iron (but not on a bothering level). Mouthfeel is incredibly smooth, even kind of milky. I like that. Taste has a pleasant coffee bean roast with dry hops. This stout does not offer outstanding complexity but I like these simple yet rich and clean flavours here and its smooth mouthfeel. Alcohol is totally hidden so it’s very sessionable too. I don’t know how store shelf ageing has impacted this (at least I can say that it hasn’t gone off) but I’m planning to find a fresh bottle of it to find out.

This is none of those perfect 3.9 beers. A bit rich and a bit dry, some toffee and roast and dryness and a whiff of sour complexity. A good stout with herbals and chocolate, lemony hops. BBD is two years, must get interesting!

[Bottle (500ml)] Pours a very dark amber-brown with an average size lasting frothy tan head. Minimal lacing. Mild aroma of roasted malt with hints of chocolate, coffee, nuts and lactic notes. Flavour of roasted malt, chocolate, lactic notes and light leafy hops. Moderate bitter finish. Medium bodied. A pretty good, not great, Stout.

Achel (307) - Ioannina, GREECE - DEC 19, 2015
Pours dark brown to black with a dense chocolate brown head. Roasted malt with a smooth chocolate note and a mild liqourice edge blending nicely in with a lovely peach fruity hops aroma. Flavour is dry hoppy with peach fruit and a thick chocolate and roasted malt smoothness. Ends quite hoppy bitter and with an edge from the roasted malt. Quite nice

aromas are caramel, alcohol, vanilla, licorice.the body is black and full with a one finger beige head that doesn’t stay.the taste is full of sweet malts, a bit of coffee at the end and a light acidic, something like plum I think.the aftertaste is bittersweet. The alcohol is there but it doesn’t show itself that much.the sensation of the feel is awesome...nice beer.My kind of beer.
