COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

English: Maybe you feel it already, when the cap is removed and you put your nose to the bottle - this " Stout " smells different than what you are accustomed to. We have dry hopped this stout in the late stages of fermentation using the American noble varieties of Nugget , Centennial and Cascade, which allow the floral tones that make this a characteristic Stout - flavours of roasted malt give both lightness and freshness.
The glass appears Sundby Stout black , while the head is tight, light brown and almost cappuccino creamy, the tongue senses both malt sweetness, hints of bitter dark chocolate and English liquorice. Sweetness, however, cleverly balances the hard roasted malt and the split , umalted and roasted barley , which both help to give beer its roasted flavor. Sundby Stout is a classic " Stout ", which nonetheless dares to be different and challenge convention.
Ingredients: Water, barley malt , hops, and yeast

Pours from the bottle a deep deep garnet, almost black. The head is thin and off white with just a little lacing. Even though this stout has lots of American hops, the chocolate and licorice is apparent. Medium body with a nice mouthfeel. Flavor of coffee and licorice. Good balance of the hops considering they’re big and citrusy.

500 ml bottle from Spirits Toms River. Poured a dark black body, thinner looking, under a small foamy beige head. Aroma is not good. Heavy aroma of oxidation, old cardboard, wet burnt toast, milk, hint of coffee. Medium bodied with a slight hint of syrupyness, soft carbonation. Flavor is like licking the asphalt followed by a chaser of cardboard dipped in milk. This is not good.

500ml bottle pours black in color with a huge light tan head that retains well and leaves a nice coating of lace on the glass. Aroma is roasted malts with chocolate and floral hops. Taste is roast and hoppy bitterness balanced nicely with chocolate and malty sweetness with traces of fruit. Medium to heavy body and adequate carbonation leave a tingle on the palate. A great stout and was a joy to have sipped this wonder.

A very good stout in the classic sense. The beer is black with a thin tan head. The aroma has some dark fruits, roast malts, chocolate, coffee, a bit of caramel and a touch of pine. The flavor has all of those, well balanced with a very pleasant sweetness.
