COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
English: For quite some time the Amager crew has been discussing this question: which person is the most rock’n’roll in the whole craft beer world - is it Barnaby Struve of Three Floyds or is it Todd Haug of Surly Brewing? In the end it wasn’t really all that difficult to decide since only Todd has played for Laura Dern in a David Lynch movie (yeah, Nicolas Cage was in that same movie, but since when did he count?) AND Todd plays the guitar in both a speed metal band and a stoner band. Add to that that Todd and his wife Linda are some of the nicest people to hang out with. So Todd, here’s to you: "Todd - The Axe Man" - a potent IPA loaded with fresh American aroma hops on a base of rich Golden Promise malt, Surly’s signature malt. Raise a glass to Todd, world class brewer - and master of the axe! Bonus facts about Todd: yes, he DID actually have a perm in his younger days (his wife confirms) and he does indeed love cats an awful lot.

Ingredienser: Vand. Malt: Golden Promise. Humle: Herkules, Citra, Mosaic. Gær: US-ale

Bottle kindly donated by Santa SlackerMads, many thanks. Orange golden color with huge white head. Nice citrus hoppy, zesty aroma. Strong fruity hoppy taste with oranges, tangerines, mango, zest, pines. Solid malty backbone. Long hoppy bitter finish. Tasty.

Bottle, 10C. Almost clear golden amber with a white head that lasts OK. Aroma of lime leaf, grapefruit, passionfruit, gooseberry, grass, I suppose some hints of crackers. On the light side of medium bodied, slightly creamy, moderate carbonation. Lots of tropical hops but not fruit saladish. Lime leaf and herbal lemon. Cleanish but firm pale malt. No caramel. Fairly high bitterness that’s fruit tinged and fades gradually. A good IPA that really panders to my tastes.

50cl bottle. Light gold. Zingy beautiful citra on the nose - so much juice - interesting herbs too. Taste gives loads of tangerine and mango - all light and airy, just beautiful and fresh. Malt is backseat biscuity and clean. Loads of great tropical juiciness here, just so pure and delightful. Lingering tropical fruit and mid-bitter citrus. I haven’t had an IPA in this ABV range as good as this for ages. A total triumph.

On tap, Lord Nelson Bar, Copenhagen. Pours cloudy yellow, white head. Piney and fruity aroma and flavor. Good malty backbone. Bit sweetish at first, bitterness takes over later. Medium to full bodied. Good one.

6.5% ABV. IPA. Tapped out a dirty yellow brown about 16ºSRM. Thin head of white creamy bubbles. Nose is full of pine, citrus, lemon peel, grapefruit aromas. Very light mouthfeel. Well balanced malt body which you hardly notice because of how timely the hops appear on the palate. Nice fresh grassy flavor. The hops are pronounced and bitter but with a nice fresh herbaceous finish without being cloying. Goes on Favorites List.

0,5lt bottle @ The Hoppy Pub, Thessaloniki. Very nice and strong aroma full of citrus, the appearance is very strong in color golden/amber with powerfull head, it tastes like it smells and has a long-lasting aftertaste. Nicely done!

Dejligt sommerfrisk.

At mini-tasting in Belgrade. Thanks Alberto! Pretty, cloudy yellow gold. White cream. Good, slightly funky hops, dank citrus. Medium body, clean and rich, quite tasty.

Draught @Taphouse. Cloudy, amber, thick white head. Fruit salad, intensive fruity really, massive aroma. Flavor has sweetness, grapefruit, hops, fruit juice. Long finish, decent bitterness. High drinkability. Very good.
