English: Cain is said to have murdered his brother out of envy. At Amager Bryghus we believe that murder is taking things a bit far. However, we admit to being envious because we weren’t the first brewer to come up with the beer style we admire the most: a crisp and hopped up West Coast IPA. We won’t kill anybody because we didn’t come up with the idea first, instead we present to you “Envy” - our take on this style. Humble – yet envious.
We’re not proud to be sinners, but at least we’re open about it…

Brewed from: Pilsener and Munich malts. Hopped with Amarillo, Simcoe and Centennial and fermented with an American ale yeast.

Pours golden yellow, cloudy with a small white head. Aroma is overload peachy. Slid peachy, slowly building grapefruity. Bone dry bitterness. Lingering fruity and solid hoppy into a dry and bitter, yet crisp fruity finish

not sure of the age on this one. lots of malt and acramel, with ample bitterness, and some pine and herbal hops. Not bad, but not a huge fan.

Lidt skuffende West Cost IPA. Amager plejer at lave gode øl!)

Bottle. Opaque golden body, very tall lasting head. Aroma has citric hops with mostly lemon peel and dry grapefruit. Body is medium, carbonation high. Taste has dry grapefruit and some lemon peel. Very dry, almost astringent. A bit unbalanced for me but I’m sure some folks will enjoy this. Pretty solid IPA, almost a DIPA.

Hazy golden body, nice white head. Aroma is floral, caramalts, faint citrus. Candy like sweetness at first, then fruity hops, bitter finish, spicy and dry afteraste. Medium body, strong carbonation, which works for this beer. Odd, but... tasty. Very, even.

Bottle. Light golden, hazy, average and mostly diminishing head. Moderate, malty and lightly sweetish, light caramel and tropical/floral fruitiness, some grapefruit/ piney hoppyness. Body is medium to full, malty and lightly sweetish flavor, faint caramel and light tropical fruitiness, grapefruit /piney hoppyness. Finish is average to long, malty and dryish, faint caramel and light tropical fruitiness, lots of piney - light grapefruit hoppyness. Really well hopped dryish IPA - not too much caramel. Aroma could use more bitterness. Aroma and flavor are not in balance.

Copenhagen 2/9 2015. 50 cl bottle from Gunnar Madsens Vinhandel. Woman full of envy of people with functioning umbrellas on the label. Pours slightly hazy yellow with white head. Settles as 0,5 cm thick layer of foam. Aroma og exotic sweet fruit mixed with citrus fruit. Lots of American hops. Fairly strong carbonation. Taste is pleasantly bitter. Grapefruit and acidic citrus fruit. Long aftertaste with semi-dry finish. Pleasant and easily drinkable IPA. And you do not need the umbrella with the dry finish.
