COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

English: Cain is said to have murdered his brother out of envy. At Amager Bryghus we believe that murder is taking things a bit far. However, we admit to being envious because we weren’t the first brewer to come up with the beer style we admire the most: a crisp and hopped up West Coast IPA. We won’t kill anybody because we didn’t come up with the idea first, instead we present to you “Envy” - our take on this style. Humble – yet envious.
We’re not proud to be sinners, but at least we’re open about it…

Brewed from: Pilsener and Munich malts. Hopped with Amarillo, Simcoe and Centennial and fermented with an American ale yeast.

Draught. High fluffy white lasting head. Hazy dark yellow muddy looking body. Heavily carbonated fruity fresh with a solid malt base and a nice amount of hops bitterness. Long bitter finish. Refreshing and quaffable.

500 ml bottle poured a clear gold with a lasting white head. Aromas of biscuit, earthiness, pine and dank bud. Palate was light bodied and crisp with a dry finish. Flavors of biscuit, earthiness, pine and light citrus with a crisp dry lingering bitter finish.

Bottle at the Sybarite Pig in Boca Raton, FL. Nice golden pour with a thick pillow white head. Lasted nicely with solid lacing. Aroma pungent with hops...pine, citrus, slight bread, white pepper, grass, weeds. The taste is similar. Fresh hops with pine, citrus and wet grass. Pretty close to the West Coast style IPA. Darn good. Finish is dry and bitter. Moderate carb and medium light body.

Thanks Tim and Rachel! Clear straw with a small white head. Very faint aroma of mild citrus hops. Flavor is much better with bitter floral and pine hops throughout and a long bitter finish. Not bad.

Bottle: Poured an orangey color ale with large foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of citrus and grapefruit hoppy notes is enjoyable. Taste is also dominated by some citrus and grapefruit notes. There are also some light sweet malt notes that are discernable with medium bitterness in the aftertaste. Body is about average for style with good carbonation. This is a very good beer but like mentioned on the label, the recipe book was not rewritten.

Bue en bouteille de 50cl. Grosse attaque sur l'amertume, un peu trop même à mon goût. Mais sinon c'est bien fait. Pour amateurs d'IPA.
