COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

English: At the Amager brewery we are comfortably situated far away from small-town modesty; we are not afraid of excess, and the term “moderation” is simply not found in our vocabulary. To us, gluttony is considered a virtue rather than a sin - at least when it comes to one thing: hops! While making this beer we targeted the hops which shone brightest in our hop room, as if they were almost begging to be used in copious quantities. And that is what we did, as befits a Double IPA of the highest caliber. We have squandered to a sinful degree - and we love it. And we bet that you will too!
We’re not proud to be sinners, but at least we’re open about it…

My Bottom Line:
Towering conifers and sticky honey move into citrus candy and floral notes in this very pleasing hefty brew.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A sheet of foam clings to the misty honeyed gold.
-Alcohol heat is felt throughout.
-This is very much in the American mold.
-The best before, as in many Amager brews, is exaggerated. This tastes about a year old which, for a Double IPA, is not optimal and there’s still 1 year left to it according to the label...

Bottle.

Savoureuse.

Piney bitter harsh. Balanced strong smooth. This is where double IPA is going. A beer for the next generation of beer lovers. Expect more and get less is not the motto here. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle, 500 ml, poured into a tulip glass. ABV 9.4% Deep and bright golden orange colour on the body, with a tall and light off-white head on top, thick and with very good retention. Heavy lacing left on the glass. Aroma has plenty of hops, light pine, more citrus, grass, a little bit of caramel as well. Tastes great! Lots of hops, very bitter from the very first sip with the bitterness going all the way to the aftertaste, with a long duration too. Pine, again some caramel and some malts that try to balance with some sweetness but in vain, citrus and light grapefruit, even some cookie dough and traces of alcohol. Medium on the body, good carbonation with a bite on the tongue, nice dryness on the palate without being extreme. Overall a great IIPA.

Bottle. An orange-colored beer, unclear, with a small, off-white head leaving some lacings. The aroma has lots of piney, citrusy hops, some grass, grapefruit and resins, and a sugary maltyness. It’s full-bodied and lighlty warming, with a nice carbonation. Far from dry, yet not cloying. Sweet flavor with a lovely bitterness. Grapefruit, citrus zest and pine cones. Lasting finish. This is pretty much like a double IPA should be. Flavorful, tasteful and really pleasant. 140111

Clear orange of color with a nice white head. An aroma of sweets, pineapple, grapefruit, dill, hops, weak spiced and exotic fruits. A flavor of dill, sweets, grapefruit bitter and pines.

Bottle @tasting. Pours orange, slightly cloudy, hazy. Lemon-grass on the nose with some grapefruit also a hint of caramel. Well balanced on the tongue with a huge grapefruit equalled out with soft sweet caramel.
