COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

English: At the Amager brewery we are comfortably situated far away from small-town modesty; we are not afraid of excess, and the term “moderation” is simply not found in our vocabulary. To us, gluttony is considered a virtue rather than a sin - at least when it comes to one thing: hops! While making this beer we targeted the hops which shone brightest in our hop room, as if they were almost begging to be used in copious quantities. And that is what we did, as befits a Double IPA of the highest caliber. We have squandered to a sinful degree - and we love it. And we bet that you will too!
We’re not proud to be sinners, but at least we’re open about it…

Draught @ Ølfestival København

Pours dark yellow with a smooth foamy head. Aroma of exotic fruits, lemony hops, grass, citrus and malts. Taste is fruity and malty with exotic fruits, lemon, orange, hints of sweetness and some off-flavors. Finish is bitter with some fresh fruity hops. Okay, quite tasty but a bit unbalanced.

Sample from tap, CBF 2012. Clear, amber colour, small white head. Hops and pines aroma with notes of grapefruit, malt and toffee. Bitter taste. Medium body with an oily texture. Finishes long lasting with hops and sweet malts with notes of toffee, pine, dried fruit and grapefruit. Excellent DIPA from Amager.

Hazy amber color. Thin white head. Floral aroma, super dry hoppiness. Palate is like drinking sea water, certainly interesting, but too extreme.

Draught @ Ølfestival Kobenhavn.
Pours hazy golden color with large head. Aroma of hoppy fruits, mild solvent-like alcohol, resin and syrup notes. Flavor of grass, fruits, caramel, some syrup and mild wooden notes. Too sweet with some minor off-flavors.

Davros (1484) - Melbourne, AUSTRALIA - MAR 21, 2012
Pours amber with a large, lasting head. Nose shows hefty pine, passion fruit, nectarine and white peach. Underneath is masses of sweet syrupy malt and caramel. Flavours are just as bold, with aggressive hops met by a fair amount of balancing malt. Lots of pine along with some peach notes, followed by hefty crystal malt. All this rounded off by a tongue-coating, almost abrasive, piny bitterness. Could use some more carbonation, and the body seems overly thick and syrup-like.

Bottle from Mane Liquor. This is a damn good beer. Hops sparkle on the nose. Rather balanced feel to it despite the huge resinous aroma it gives off. Lots of tropical, citric hoppage with a heavy grapefruit hop finish. Soft and spritzy carbonation works well with lingering bitterness. Freakin awesome beer

Botella. Hazy orange colour with a big white head. Hoppy aroma indeed, exotic fruits, citrus and pine. Good mouthfeel. Quite a hop bomb in the flavour, bit too much for my likings, pine and citrus with exitic "old" fruits, very dry and very bitter with some alcohol. Long lasting dry bitter finish. Dryyyy...

Pours tan with a slightly off white head and an amazing tropical fruit aroma with a hint of caramel. As soon as the beer hits your palate there is an explosion of sweet tropical fruit flavour then the dry bitterness kick in as it rolls down the throught. Cant taste the alcohol at all and its so well balanced. This is truly an amazing DIPA i love it pitty its so expensive here in Australia.

_angst_ (1745) - Göteborg, SWEDEN - DEC 30, 2011
Last beer of the year :). 500 ml bottle @ Bishops Arms: Örebro on December 30. Pours hazy golden with a small white head that quickly dissipates without leaving any trace. Smell is slightly sweet and very hoppy with pine, peaches, apricot, grapefruit and orange zest. Taste is sweet and very bitter with tons of pine, orange zest, lemon zest, grass, resin and unripe peaches. Finish is slightly sweet and very bitter. Extreme and a bit unbalanced but still very nice.
