English: At the Amager brewery we are comfortably situated far away from small-town modesty; we are not afraid of excess, and the term “moderation” is simply not found in our vocabulary. To us, gluttony is considered a virtue rather than a sin - at least when it comes to one thing: hops! While making this beer we targeted the hops which shone brightest in our hop room, as if they were almost begging to be used in copious quantities. And that is what we did, as befits a Double IPA of the highest caliber. We have squandered to a sinful degree - and we love it. And we bet that you will too!
We’re not proud to be sinners, but at least we’re open about it…

Bottle. An orange-colored beer, unclear, with a small, off-white head leaving some lacings. The aroma has lots of piney, citrusy hops, some grass, grapefruit and resins, and a sugary maltyness. It’s full-bodied and lighlty warming, with a nice carbonation. Far from dry, yet not cloying. Sweet flavor with a lovely bitterness. Grapefruit, citrus zest and pine cones. Lasting finish. This is pretty much like a double IPA should be. Flavorful, tasteful and really pleasant. 140111

Bottle @tasting. Pours orange, slightly cloudy, hazy. Lemon-grass on the nose with some grapefruit also a hint of caramel. Well balanced on the tongue with a huge grapefruit equalled out with soft sweet caramel.

Quite interesting take on an American IPA. It has a nice yeasty twist, a pleasant bitterness and a beautiful complex nose ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Sampled from a bottle at Kyle’s tasting. Gold color. Rich, sweet malt and lots of hop flavor. Heavy palate, almost like a barleywine.

Light cloudy golden, ringed filmy head. Spritzy lemon, cheesy nose. Decent bit of a hop burn, but clean enough finish. Fairly steely.

Bottle at home, last beer of the year (driving tomorrow night!), 30/12/13. Very lightly hazed golden amber with a good sized off white head. Nose is orange sherbet, caramel malt, pine resin, grapefruit, sticky tropical fruits. Taste comprises bitter grapefruit, orange, caramel malt, floral, pine, faint soapy backnotes. Medium bodied with a little kick, fine carbonation, boozey tones showing through in the closure. Solid enough DIPA but a few notches shy of being one I’d return to bearing in mind the competition.
