4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
UPDATED: FEB 10, 2012 Boreft Beer Festival 2011. Hazy orange with a lasting white head. Rich hoppy aroma, lots of tropical fruit, along with pine and spice - the kind of hop aroma that blows you away even when you think you know all that IPAs can do. Dry and fruity flavour dominated by a rather sharp bitterness - such a shame, because more friendly bittering hops could have made this almost perfect.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle. Pours hazy orange, with a small white head, Aroma: tangerine, Orange peel, mango, malty, caramel, loads of tropical exotic fruit, peach, peach skin, resin, pine, light menthol (kschep)
Medium mouthfeel, Fills the mouth, nice bitterness, tropical fruits, caramel malty backbone, peach pine, resin, tingly, alcohol is well hidden though, malty sweetness, fruity sweet, citrussy hops, lemon peel, tangerine, grapefruit, gooseberries, hint of warmth from tje alcohol in the end, nice long lingering bitter aftertaste, I’ve tasted this when it was superfresh (4,3), and fresh (4.1) and when I did this rating it was a couple months old (3,9). So the rating is an average. First time i was blown away. One of the best Danish Imperial IPA’s IMO.

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Wow. The double IPA of double IPAs. Avoids the astringent afterburn of many in the style. The hops, of course, dominate that flavor, but in taste and aroma, they are balanced with malts.
