English: At the Amager brewery we are comfortably situated far away from small-town modesty; we are not afraid of excess, and the term “moderation” is simply not found in our vocabulary. To us, gluttony is considered a virtue rather than a sin - at least when it comes to one thing: hops! While making this beer we targeted the hops which shone brightest in our hop room, as if they were almost begging to be used in copious quantities. And that is what we did, as befits a Double IPA of the highest caliber. We have squandered to a sinful degree - and we love it. And we bet that you will too!
We’re not proud to be sinners, but at least we’re open about it…

Bottle shared by alexsdad06. Poured hazy copper color with an average to large frothy off-white head that was mostly lasting with excellent lacing. Moderate to heavy west coast earthy hop aroma. Medium to abundanr body with slick texture and soft carbonation. Medium to heavy bittersweet flavor with a medium to heavy bittersweet finish of moderate to long duration. This is a standout beer.

New Beer Distributors, NYC 50 cl ($9): Pours orange wiht a white head. Aroma is a whole hock of tropical fruits (literally one hock). Sharp resiny feel to it as well. Tropical, but not so much citrus as it is other stuff. Taste is bitter and has a very distinct taste that I am somehow misplacing... something... perhaps passion-fruit. In any case, the bitterness is sharp and leaves a powerful aftertaste. Fortunately, this is not too sweet. I kind of agree with some that this is directionless in some sense. But as far as directionless beers go, I could imagine something much worse.

On tap at Amager event at Mikkeller Bangkok. Nice aroma, lots of hops. The taste is good, but a little to bitter for me.

large white head with good retention and a sticky lace. Murky, gold hued brew. Nose is boozy with some grapefruit fightin through. Body is fairly full with a soft carbonation, bit resiny and warm. Almost dry malts are a little toasty and slapped with a fair amount of grapefruit and booze, some grass, stale hay and pine. sticky hops. Fruity, lightly sweet finish with a large bite and alcohol really showing as it warms. bottle from statelineliquors.

500 ml bottle shared with the group. Pours a hazy orange amber color with a thin whitish ring. The aroma has nice dank, resiny, citrus and tropical fruit hops. The flavor has resin, citrus and some tropical notes, though not as forceful as the nose, caramel, spicy rye like notes, dry toasted malt with moderate bitterness as the finish.

500ml bottle, thanks to alexsdad06 for sharing. I got the end part of the bottle. Totally hazy golden orange color. Thin white kind of bubbly head. Leaves pretty good lace. Nice big piney and citrusy hop, lightly spicy. Some good bright tropical fruit here. Moderate to bigger bitter, light sweet. Medium to bigger body. Smooth, lighter carbonation. Dry finish. Very tasty, assertive, piney, spicy, bright IPA. One of the best european DIPAs I’ve had yet. Very resiny long hoppy aftertaste. Impressive stuff.

UPDATED: MAY 21, 2014 Oransje fremtoning med par centimeter skum.

Draft sample @ Birra Expo’14 Piacenza. Superbe.
