COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

English: At the Amager brewery we are comfortably situated far away from small-town modesty; we are not afraid of excess, and the term “moderation” is simply not found in our vocabulary. To us, gluttony is considered a virtue rather than a sin - at least when it comes to one thing: hops! While making this beer we targeted the hops which shone brightest in our hop room, as if they were almost begging to be used in copious quantities. And that is what we did, as befits a Double IPA of the highest caliber. We have squandered to a sinful degree - and we love it. And we bet that you will too!
We’re not proud to be sinners, but at least we’re open about it…

500ml bottle, drink-in at Ølbutikken, cheers to Skinnyviking for the share. Low, beige bubbly head, fragile lace, unclear, amber body colour. Fresh aroma of tropical fruits. Spiced hoppy taste including pine and a bite of herbal dryness. Sharp, dry bitter ending. Mouth filling and tasty (pub crawl at Vesterbro, Copenhagen, 04.11.2011).

Bottle. Pours bit hazy golden with a medium white head. The aroma is citrus, grape fruit, mango, passion fruit, pineapple and peaches. Good caramel backbone in the flavour with notes of fruit, peaches, grape fruit and pine. Lovely.

Frisch hopfiger, dazu knackig bitterer Antrunk. Gelungen, frisch, süffig. Die Hopfigkeit ist voll aber nicht aufdringlich. Gelungene helle Holzigkeit. Im Abgang trockenes helles Malz. 8/12/12/10//12

Bottled. A dark golden beer with a lazing beige head. The aroma has notes of cirusy and spicy hops on a malty and yeasty background. The flavor is sweet with notes of lots of hops lending it notes of citrus fruits, spices, and hay on a malty and chewy background, leading to a very almost roughly bitter finish.

Sampled at SBWF. Stockholm, September 29th, 2011.
Big, dry and aggressive hop aroma filled with grass, pine needles and grapefruit. The fact that it lacks the sweet fruitiness just makes it more enjoyable for me. The taste is filled with a raw hop flavours and a big bitterness. The taste have just the right amount of sweetness.

Pours hazy amber/orange with off white head. Aroma is juicy topical hops with alot of sexy tropical fruits along with some pine, citrus, and some bready notes behind. Taste is resin, crispy hops, exotic fruits, grapefruit, lemon peel, resin, some malts in the background leading to a dry bitter end.

Tap @ BBF. Golden amber, small white head. Aroma has herbs, not-very-fruity hops; quite dry and a little harsh. Quite herbal, piny and earthy. A bit of pineapple as well. Taste is extremely bitter with a hard hop-profile and some herbs, grass and liquorice. A little on the bitter side, for me.

Bottle. Low fluffy white quickly disappearing head. Beautiful clear amber golden body. Bigtter grapefrut lemon flavor. Low carbonation and a long bitter aftertaste. Alcohol can be tasted but is not too much of a good thing.

UPDATED: NOV 2, 2011 Bottle 50 cl. Pours a clear deep golden with a creamy and lacing off-white head. Intense hop melange in the nose, there’s lots of pine and exotic fruits here. Solid body with a juice, sweet fruitiness. And the solid hoppiness is felt straight away on your palate. Medical and almost herbal. Heavy bitterness in the finish. Serious stuff this! 311011
