COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

English: At the Amager brewery we are comfortably situated far away from small-town modesty; we are not afraid of excess, and the term “moderation” is simply not found in our vocabulary. To us, gluttony is considered a virtue rather than a sin - at least when it comes to one thing: hops! While making this beer we targeted the hops which shone brightest in our hop room, as if they were almost begging to be used in copious quantities. And that is what we did, as befits a Double IPA of the highest caliber. We have squandered to a sinful degree - and we love it. And we bet that you will too!
We’re not proud to be sinners, but at least we’re open about it…

Bottle from the brewery beer release day, served in big crystal wine glass that closes like a snifter (very important which glass to pour beer in! Not always the designated glasses of the brewers/bars are the best! Test different ones for yourself and see for yourself - try to trap the released aromas this way, in my opinion the aroma makes or breaks a beer). Full orangy citrus india pale ale with balanced bitterness (slight; thank god!). Beautiful aroma-taste balance and what a lingering mildness! 9.4 ABV, full bodied, pouring dark orange with consistent foam head. Lacing is viscosy. Plums, citrus, creamy aftertaste. Beautiful DIPA, although the title Imperial (D) IPA would be in order. Glad to have 11 left.. Gluttony all the way!

Sampled at ESBLS. It poured a hazy orange color with a white head. The aroma was of citrus, mango, tangerine, dried fruit, bread, caramel and grapefruit. The taste was dry and bitter with notes of citrus, caramel, grain and bread. Thanks strykzone.

Sampled at ESBLS. Hazy golden with a white ring. Sweet tropical fruit in the nose is very nice and rich. This is a sweet beer. Fruit and rich soft malts. Not caramel. Bitterness grows and is citrus. Heat is well hidden.

Mooi oranjegele kleur met een goede fijne kraag. Ruikt erg fruitig, hop, orange, citrus, tikkeltje honing. Smaakt bitter, fruitig, hop, kruiden, grapefruit. Goede bittere afdronk.

Cloudy orange color with white persistent head. Aroma is very hoppy and fruity, full of tropical notes such as mango and peach and; orange and pine are also present. Taste is intense, very hoppy and fruity. Again, tropical fruits and orange are predominant. Aftertaste is dry and so bitter, persisting for a long time. Very solid and extreme Double IPA.

500ml bottle generously shared by Finn 18.06.14. This being the fifteenth (and last) brew sampled at our XXXVI Rating Session, me and my fellow ratebeerians were probably guilty of gluttony in the form of excessive drinking. Fruity aroma. Amber orange body. Citrus, wood, herbs and dry finish.

0,5 bottle Hazy orange medium sized head. Ok Apperance: unclear orange with a vey nice packed (2 fingers sized)slightly tanned head, with a excellent retention. Leaving light amount of lacing Aroma: Citrus(lime, grapefruit, oranges), a bit of grass, spicy/peppery yeast notes int the back Taste: Big bitter citrus and tropical fruit taste, the some sweet caramel ones, a hint of grain and pepper come in before it finishes the fruity and piney hops come back for a bitter finish. Medium body, creamy texture, Moderate carbonation At first is very impressive, but the problem here is that overtime bottle it becomes very one dimensional and the diverstiy and complexity of the first sip is missing. This would be solved with a smaller bottle. But now the last part of the 0,5 L is he part that you start to think was it really that great. Don’t get me wrong this is still a very good DIPA, but the first sip was really much more then good.

Potent hoppy aroma of citrus and tropical fruits, pine, caramel malt. Flavour is very fruity, a little sweetness, with a long lasting bitter aftertaste. Quite thick body. Powerful DIPA.

Tart citrus and pepper notes on the nose. Head formed well, loosely packed larger bubbles. Medicinal tastes at the front of the mouth alongside some stonefruit. Bitterness lingers at the back of the tongue, but despite this, actually finished quite dry.
