COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

English: At the Amager brewery we are comfortably situated far away from small-town modesty; we are not afraid of excess, and the term “moderation” is simply not found in our vocabulary. To us, gluttony is considered a virtue rather than a sin - at least when it comes to one thing: hops! While making this beer we targeted the hops which shone brightest in our hop room, as if they were almost begging to be used in copious quantities. And that is what we did, as befits a Double IPA of the highest caliber. We have squandered to a sinful degree - and we love it. And we bet that you will too!
We’re not proud to be sinners, but at least we’re open about it…

Hazy light orange color, medium white head. Sweet malty and fruity aroma with notes of orange, biscuit and some strawberry. Taste has similar notes, it is mostly sweet with heavy hoppy bitterness in finish. Medium body and average carbonation, alcohol is well hidden. Great sweetness and bitterness balance, nice fruity IPA.

Appearance: Misty golden color with a fine thick white head that leaves an ok lacing.
Aroma: Grapefruit hoppy, rich fruity and a bit sweet malty.
Palate: Medium to full body. Slightly sweet and a nice bitterness. Average carbonation.
Taste: Grapefruit/citrus hoppy, rich fruity and malty.
Overall impression: Tasty and balanced dipa. I would personally hoped that the hoppy notes were more dominant than the fruity notes. Definitely a beer I would drink again, but not my favourite.
Personal stats: Bottle from Systembolaget in Strömstad, Sweden.

500ml bottle. Clear amber color. Small size, white head, stays. Hops, alcohol, sweet, fruity aroma. Sweet, hops, fruity taste. Mild sweet-bitter aftertaste. Well balanced and very easy to drink.

500ml bottle (Stockmann, Tallinn)
Super fruity DIPA aroma, sugary malts, sugary fruits. Smoothish body, sweet. Very heady and zesty retronasals. I mean *really* heady. This is not a beer for swallowing, this is a beer for floating around in the mouth. Burps pure fruit juice - yay! Finish is a bit like baltic frontier, and it’s sharp and fruity. Full, heady, potent, warming, welcoming, enveloping... Yes, you could drown yourself in this. Harshness in the taste of the aggressive bitterness is cancelled by the fact that the sweetness makes it so damn soft. Palate obviously very sweet and smooth, but it’s nice.

My Bottom Line:
Towering conifers and sticky honey move into citrus candy and floral notes in this very pleasing hefty brew.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A sheet of foam clings to the misty honeyed gold.
-Alcohol heat is felt throughout.
-This is very much in the American mold.
-The best before, as in many Amager brews, is exaggerated. This tastes about a year old which, for a Double IPA, is not optimal and there’s still 1 year left to it according to the label...

Bottle.

Savoureuse.
