COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

English: We thought about this for a long time: what kinda beer would give us the utmost feeling of pride in The Sinner Series? Well, if you know Amager Bryghus you already know that Imperial Stouts have a special place in our hearts. So “Pride” simply had to be an Imperial Stout. What is special about this take on the style is that we boiled the h… out of it. Actually we boiled it for 6 hours, making for a richer and fuller version. We would never dare calling this the perfect Imperial Stout - that would be taking pride way too close to hubris! But we hope you enjoy it nonetheless. We’re not proud to be sinners, but at least we’re open about it…

Brewed from Pale Ale, Wheat, Crystal, Black, Chocolate malts and roasted barley, hopped with Zeus and fermented with an American yeast strain.

Bottled. Dark color, short brown head. Aroma of lots of dark chocolat, some coffee, some grassy and piny hop, dark bread, hint of thyme. Medium sweet and medium bitter in taste. Savory, umami. It doesn’t have a lot of cookie or biscuity sweetness, which you can find often in imperial stouts. Quite dry and bitter aftertaste. Quite rich in flavor, and it seems ok balanced. But it’s not the right combination of flavors for me.

Draught. High creamy and long lasting good looking brown head. And yes, the body is indeed pitch black. Lovely choccolate coffee roasted malt vanilla aroma. Sweet and solid roasted malt base with a fair amount of hops bitterness coffee choccolate and vanilla in a very fine balance. Even the high alcohol percentage is well hidden. Low carbonation. Long bitter sweet finish.

@Ølfestival København 2013 - black beer with a persistent beige foam; nice lacework; aroma of mocha and black coffee; fairly roasted, notes of plums and dark cherries; thick and strong malt backbone: salty and hugely bitter; notes of whisky, plums and a strong warming alcohol presence in the finish - complex and powerful, I love it !
