COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

English: We thought about this for a long time: what kinda beer would give us the utmost feeling of pride in The Sinner Series? Well, if you know Amager Bryghus you already know that Imperial Stouts have a special place in our hearts. So “Pride” simply had to be an Imperial Stout. What is special about this take on the style is that we boiled the h… out of it. Actually we boiled it for 6 hours, making for a richer and fuller version. We would never dare calling this the perfect Imperial Stout - that would be taking pride way too close to hubris! But we hope you enjoy it nonetheless. We’re not proud to be sinners, but at least we’re open about it…

Brewed from Pale Ale, Wheat, Crystal, Black, Chocolate malts and roasted barley, hopped with Zeus and fermented with an American yeast strain.

On tap @ Borefts 2013. Lovely looking in the glass with its really big and lasting ashy brown dense head on top of a near black body. The nose is not as toasty as it looks, more subtle but complex. I get soft chocolate and berry tones with light fruity undertones. It’s definitely not what I would call extreme on the nose, but still quite nice. Lots more going on in the taste. It’s first of all much more roasted than the aroma led to believe. Sweetened brown sugar with more soft dark fruity tones. It’s really thick and oily in the mouth and it has a comfortable prickling soft carbonation level. Chocolate and even a little bit of faint faint chili in the aftertaste (that’s quite sweet by the way). A bit to far out there on the sweet side perhaps, but I still kinda enjoy this one. 27.09.2013
