English: We thought about this for a long time: what kinda beer would give us the utmost feeling of pride in The Sinner Series? Well, if you know Amager Bryghus you already know that Imperial Stouts have a special place in our hearts. So “Pride” simply had to be an Imperial Stout. What is special about this take on the style is that we boiled the h… out of it. Actually we boiled it for 6 hours, making for a richer and fuller version. We would never dare calling this the perfect Imperial Stout - that would be taking pride way too close to hubris! But we hope you enjoy it nonetheless. We’re not proud to be sinners, but at least we’re open about it…

Brewed from Pale Ale, Wheat, Crystal, Black, Chocolate malts and roasted barley, hopped with Zeus and fermented with an American yeast strain.

50cl Bottle from Plovmand, thanks Thomas! Black colour, brown head. Aroma of liqourice, molasses, roasted malts, chocolate, alcohol, some hops. Flavour is quite sweet, brown sugar, molasses, some chocolate, hard roasted malts, aluminium, hoppy bitter and light alcoholic finish with some roast and brown sugar. Medium to full-bodied. Nice, but a touch too sweet for me, I still prefer the Hr. Fred.

50cl bottle thanks to Papsoe! Dark dark color with thin brownish head. Carbonation is soft and texture is medium oily. Taste is medium to high bitter but nicely balanced. Aroma is medium hop, high coffee and chocolate. This is good!

Mooie donkere kleur met een zwarte kraag. Ruikt matig voor een impy. Tonen, chocolade, koffie. Smaakt, toast, iets gerookten, koffie. Prima, maar niet de beste imperal stout.

Pours a beautiful black beer with a good white head. Smells coffee and milk chocolate. Bit vanilla. Tastes vanilla. Caramel. I think milk chocolate. Good average carbo. Bit burning. Thick body and a sticky texture.

Bottle from Systembolaget Nordstan, Gothenburg. Pours a pitch black body with a small creamy off-white head. Aroma is licorice, caramel, sweet grains, marzipan, dark chocolate, hints of alcohol and coffee. Taste is licorice, marzipan, caramel, wheat, dark chocolate, hints of alcohol and leather. Full, creamy body, soft carbonation. A bit sweet but a solid imperial stout from Amager. They may be proud of this one.

Black body, light brown head. Aroma has roasted malt, bread and molasses. Little turns on the BBQ sauce side. Might be salty. Lots of liqourice in taste, some sweet coal. Sweet aftertaste, but there is enough bitterness. Round and complex when warms. Really great treat.

500 ml bottle. Batch 511. BB 10/2017. From Italy. Courtesy of Brandman.
Pitch black colour with a tiny light tan head. The aroma is BBQ sauce, mild tartness, sweet maltiness and soy sauce. The flavour is roasted malt, hoppy bitterness, soy sauce, liquorice, some ash and berries. It’s dry. Very tasty.

Flaska.

500ml bottle. Black colour with average to huge, firm, creamy, fairly lasting, moderately lacing, brown head. Roasty dark malty aroma, hints of coffee, burnt coffee, dark bitter chocolate. slightly herbal, hoppy overtones. Taste is minimally sweet and roasty dark malty, hints of coffee, dark and milk chocolate, a spicy touch between Maggi, green onions and balsamico. Lasting finish, sticky palate. Rich and complex, not overly heavy.
