English: We thought about this for a long time: what kinda beer would give us the utmost feeling of pride in The Sinner Series? Well, if you know Amager Bryghus you already know that Imperial Stouts have a special place in our hearts. So “Pride” simply had to be an Imperial Stout. What is special about this take on the style is that we boiled the h… out of it. Actually we boiled it for 6 hours, making for a richer and fuller version. We would never dare calling this the perfect Imperial Stout - that would be taking pride way too close to hubris! But we hope you enjoy it nonetheless. We’re not proud to be sinners, but at least we’re open about it…

Brewed from Pale Ale, Wheat, Crystal, Black, Chocolate malts and roasted barley, hopped with Zeus and fermented with an American yeast strain.

Bottle shared by a friend. Pours darkest brown with a thick tan head. Aroma of malt, chocolate and roast. Malty and chocolatey flavor with some roastiness before a grassy hop finish.

Bottle. Teku. Pitch black with medium, light brown, densed head. Poor lacinr, medicore head retention. Medium roasted malts aroma - coffee, milk and dusty chocolate, some licorice, vanilla and dark fruits. Taste is sth between semi-dry and semi-sweet. Also nice malty profile. Full body, soft carbonation, oily texture, finish is semi-sweet and nice.

500ml bottle from Beer Bazaar. Cellared less than a month. Black pour with a brown head leaving spotty lacing. Aroma has big bittersweet choco/coffee. Some molasses. Light smoke. Taste is of sweet caramel, bakers chocolate, roast, some smokiness, some berries and a bit of ash. Full bodied and quite smooth. Finishes more bitter than sweet, on that bitter-sweet scale, with the ashy coffee leading the way. This is nicely done. 14.8

Ridiculously easy to smash - has the wow factor - complex array of flavours all seamlessly integrated - a touch too sweet perhaps but hey, so what.

0,50 bottle purchased at the Hoppy Imports (Greece) and consumed at home in Kosovo, after a few months of cellar. Pours a quadrupel-like dark brown color (should I say black?), compact medium-big brown frappe-like cap which lasts more than expected. Nose: during the pouring it seduces you already. Balanced coffee and licorice notes, none of them dominating but distinctively present. Also some anice, kind of sambuca liquor in an espresso. Herbal aroma as well. Nice, really nice. Mouth: predominant alcohol blast, you can immediately spot it all around your mouth. It stays a bit too anonymous in the middle...some coffee here and there and a frizzy carbonation. The end is dry and grassy-bitter, in line with the Amager orientation. It talks to these American West coast Imperials, a nice beer but far from being outstanding.

50cl bb10/2018 (batch no. 703) courtesy of Enjoyit in the EU local Swap 4.0, 2014 - thanks for this Sinner series! - standard motor oil pour, contained foam. Not overly fragrant in aroma, but opening up delicately like a heavier red wine: currant, liquorice, milk chocolate coated plum, red grape. Quite vinous and leathery in taste as well, with a very pleasant oat-wheat smoothness in mouthfeel, a soft bed for chocolate roast, tar and treacle to come through.hard to place, elegant hop notes - must be the Zeus. Confident, full and "proud" take on a classic.

Bottle. Pitch black in colour, vert thick and solid beige head. In aroma and flavour this beer is packed with dark chocolate, you can find also cofdee, vanilla, dried fruits. Full bodied, oily and smooth. Fantastic brew.

Pours black with a light tan head. Aroma is very cocoa/dark chocolate driven. Taste upfront is raisins, cocoa, coffee, smoke and a mint/bitter finish. I like it - nothing out of the ordinary but one i’ve enjoyed a few times now.

pours unclear dark brown with a creamy beige cap, very good retention and lacing. burnt caramel, burnt raisins, roastiness-plenty, lightly smoked and salty berries, bitter citrus, clean yeast action. average carbonation, medium body - oily and almost creamy; boozy and harsh resinous finish. young perhaps. average imperial stout.
