English: We thought about this for a long time: what kinda beer would give us the utmost feeling of pride in The Sinner Series? Well, if you know Amager Bryghus you already know that Imperial Stouts have a special place in our hearts. So “Pride” simply had to be an Imperial Stout. What is special about this take on the style is that we boiled the h… out of it. Actually we boiled it for 6 hours, making for a richer and fuller version. We would never dare calling this the perfect Imperial Stout - that would be taking pride way too close to hubris! But we hope you enjoy it nonetheless. We’re not proud to be sinners, but at least we’re open about it…

Brewed from Pale Ale, Wheat, Crystal, Black, Chocolate malts and roasted barley, hopped with Zeus and fermented with an American yeast strain.

(50 cl bottle from the brewery; Batch #511 BBD: october 2017) Pours pitch black with beautifully creamy, dark, toffee head. Beautiful lace and decent retention. Regenerates well. Aroma is medicinal, raisiny, dark malts with some herbal, hoppy notes and a hint of the wheaty acidity. Extremely creamy mouthfeel, full bodied, softly carbonated with a sweet, warming finish. Very pleasant but with more of an alcohol bite than I would have imagined. Girlfriend says: "It’s really good."

Very good beer, though not world class as expected. Starts off just a little hot and rough around the edges, but opens/warms up nicely. Lots of roast, with some anise, dark fruit, and a healthy dose of hops

From a 50 ml bottle shared at home. Pours a clear dark cola with a tan head. Aroma of coffee and dark fruits. Flavors of caramel, licorice and plums. Lingering roasty finish.

Hmmm....this was a nice find at the Lakeland, Florida, Brass Tap. Nose is light roast, anise, sweet malts, port wine, chocolate. Flavor is similar with a big sweet malt presence. Dark fruits, port wine, chocolate. Very rich. My only complaint is that it was almost too sweet after about half a glass. Good stuff, though.

500ml bottle. Very dark brown with a creamy mocha head. Nicely roasted dark malt with some bittersweet chocolate, hint of anise, bit of plum, some coffee and a nice booziness that warms things up. Moderate+ body, mild carbonation, creamy, odd vegetable note towards the end and more dark toasted malt.

Last beer of my Copenhagen beer odyssey shared with Desverger. Black pour with a light tan head.Aromas of dark chocolate, licorice toffee and dark roast coffee. Flavours of port, coffee and treacle toffee. Quite a vinous number. Nice.

500ml bottle Appearance: Dark brown/black with an tanned head of 2 fingers. The retention of the head is quite good, and i leaves some lacing. Aroma: roasted malt, bittersweet and milk chocolate, dark fruit, light licorice and some unplaceable sweetness. Taste: Follows the aroma but wih some allmos barley wine hops and a more strong licorice taste some Laurus nobilis and a bit of molasis. Aftertaste is a nice bitter licorice with Lauris Nobilis. with a bi of coffee. Full body, soft carbonation. Sligfhtly oo sweet but very well balanced.

UPDATED: AUG 5, 2014 50cl bottle from the brewery, served young at room temperature. Slightly sticky, soft with a hint of milk chocolate and slight booze aftertaste. Soft and booze is definitely the main characteristic. Beautiful lasting alcoholous glow on the palate. An imperial stout accesable to every kind of palate.

Smell of licorice, milk chocolate, crystal malt, quite sweet. Taste is very much like a barley wine loaded with chocolate malt. Sweet but not everlasting, very peaky, decent hop bite, not very roasty, but milk chocolate, nice and drinkable.
