English: We thought about this for a long time: what kinda beer would give us the utmost feeling of pride in The Sinner Series? Well, if you know Amager Bryghus you already know that Imperial Stouts have a special place in our hearts. So “Pride” simply had to be an Imperial Stout. What is special about this take on the style is that we boiled the h… out of it. Actually we boiled it for 6 hours, making for a richer and fuller version. We would never dare calling this the perfect Imperial Stout - that would be taking pride way too close to hubris! But we hope you enjoy it nonetheless. We’re not proud to be sinners, but at least we’re open about it…

Brewed from Pale Ale, Wheat, Crystal, Black, Chocolate malts and roasted barley, hopped with Zeus and fermented with an American yeast strain.

Black with a large light brown head. Aroma had dark chocolate, coffee and English liquorice. Flavor was sort of sweet with plenty of burned malt, espresso coffee, liquorice and dark bitter chocolate. Towards the end hops kicked in and gave it a rather dry and bitter finish. Not overly so, just enough to balance the sweetness for the style. Oily and thick. Lovely!

bottle @ Party Source / Bellevue KY --- Heady aroma of toasted malt. Opaque black color, brown head that drops to a thin cover, thin bands of lace. Taste is full-bodied toasted malt that adds medium fizz on the swallow before exploding into rich chocolate malt that grows slightly bitter as it floats through an incredibly long finish. The tail end exposes mild alcohol warmth. This is beer heaven, if you appreciate stouts that are intended for dessert. It is a worthy contender to the Founders KBS or Goose Island BCS. An incredible brew.

Copenhagen 30’74 2016. Strange fellow with high hat and cloth over the eyes symbolizes Pride. Pours opaque dark brown with light beige head. Settles as thin layer of foam. Aroma is intense and sweet. Dark chocolate, rye bread, brown sugar, bitter Espresso coffee and a whiff of alcohol. Soft carbonation and extremely thick and creamy palate. Flavor is intense. Heavy sweetness but balanced by distinct bitterness in aftertaste. Some buzzing alcohol in the aftertaste. A wll balanced hard-hitting Deadly Sin.

Bottle at home. Three year old bottle. Has a pitch black color with a big creamy light brown head. Aroma of coffee beans, dark chocolate truffles, rubber rye bread, forest floor and nuts. Roasted flavour with ash, coffee beans, leather and barbecue. Long bitter aftertaste. Has a soft and creamy mouth feel, full-bodied and medium to heavy bitterness. A pretty roasted and quite bitter IS. Solid and tasteful but not particularly complex.

pitch black, fine poring tan head rather viscous with good lacings. On the nose aromas of dark bitter chocolate, earthy, light roasty notes with hints of smoke develop. Very fine carbonation, slick with light livelyness developping; full bodied. Roast malt, bitter chocolate flavours with notes of dried dark red fruits. Bit sweet with solid roast malt bitterness. Lasting finish.
