COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

English: We thought about this for a long time: what kinda beer would give us the utmost feeling of pride in The Sinner Series? Well, if you know Amager Bryghus you already know that Imperial Stouts have a special place in our hearts. So “Pride” simply had to be an Imperial Stout. What is special about this take on the style is that we boiled the h… out of it. Actually we boiled it for 6 hours, making for a richer and fuller version. We would never dare calling this the perfect Imperial Stout - that would be taking pride way too close to hubris! But we hope you enjoy it nonetheless. We’re not proud to be sinners, but at least we’re open about it…

Brewed from Pale Ale, Wheat, Crystal, Black, Chocolate malts and roasted barley, hopped with Zeus and fermented with an American yeast strain.

500ml bottle. Pours an opaque black, with a tiny beige head, which lasts reasonably well and leaves a little lacing. Cappuccino and boiled sweet aromas mix with a strong cured ham aroma, with some faint leafy hops wafting through. Herbal hops up front lead into a sweet, syrupy body, with mint humbug and honey flavours coming through. A touch of black coffee leads into jamon iberico ham in the finish, with a slight smoky aftertaste. There are some quite unusual flavours in this beer, making for an imperial stout that is a little out of the ordinary, but still quite enjoyable.

Bottle: Poured a pitch-black carol stout with a nice large foamy brown color head with good retention and some good lacing. Aroma of roasted malt with some black chocolates notes and light dry notes are quite enticing. Taste is also a very solid mxi between some dry roasted malt with light smooth black chocolates with alight dry hoppy finish. Body is full with somewhat of a creamy texture with no apparent alcohol. Solid interpretation of the style but I still prefer some of the other imperial stout brewed by the same brewer.

Thanks Tim and Rachel! Black pour with a small bubbly tan head. Roasted malts, faint plum and fig, bitter chocolate with light charcoal in the aroma. Flavor is similar and had a medium thick body with relaxed carbonation. Moderate bitter finish. The best of seven!

On tap 5 oz. pour at Max's in the Fell's Point district, Baltimore, MD. Opaque, near black with a small tan head and excellent lacing. Aroma of layers of chocolate, berries, alcohol, roasted malt, coffee, tobacco, vanilla and molasses. Sweet taste of toffee, caramel, chocolate, tobacco, roasted malt, licorice and berries. Full/medium body and low/medium carbonization. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Black indeed with brown lacing foam head. Light aroma, strange. However heavy taste, coffee, little sweet. Lasting, bitter aftertaste. (Lille 201404)

Draught @ BBF 2014. Pitch black beer, orangeish brown head. Syrupy malty aroma is a bit roasted, has coffee and dark chocolate. Flavour is sweetish malty with roasted malts, coffee, licorice. Good bitterness. Nicely bodied and balanced as well.

Light brown hue, black body, lacings some. Sweet dark roasted malts, toffee chocolate, hops and spicy grains to the nose. Dark sweet malts, black syrup, prune-wine, coffee, liquorice, teak oil, black confectionery to the tongue. Quite a mouthfeel, warming alco, accurate carbonation. Sweet bitter-sweet finish, lingering half the way. Overall; sweetness makes it not to hard to drink, stout mediocre. Brown 50cl bottle 10%abv #753 b@Vinmonopolet Langnes Tromsø, t@home.

Bottle shared with Zach and Brooke at the Sybarite Pig in Boca Raton, FL. Poured into small snifters. Jet black, opaque pour with an off-white thick head. Aroma of chocolate, cocoa nibs, hint of vanilla, earth peat, and prunes. The taste was chocolate, cocoa, roasted malts, prunes, figs, vanilla and earth. Not overly thick but a nice full body. Mild carbonation. Solid chocolaty finish and ended with cocoa. Nice imp stout. I feel like a sinner.

Bottle from Vinmonopolet, Kvadrat. Pours pitch black with a big creamy tanned head. Aroma of roasted malts, heavy fruity hops, dark chocolate and soft liquorice. Smooth & creamy mouthfeel. Taste is light sweet, heavy roasted malts, resiny and crisp hops, liquorice, pepper and tar at the utter finish. Very good one.
