COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

English: We’re hardworking people here at Amager Bryghus. Only once in a while are we lazy bastards. But it happens. We have to admit that we were lazy when we designed this beer. One malt, one hop – albeit a good one – and then our house yeast. Well, how hard can it possibly be to create a sessionable American Pale Ale? And that’s what we’re offering you here. Sometimes brewing is hard work. Sometimes it’s a work of art. And then sometimes it’s a walk in the park. Take a stroll, sit and relax on a park bench in the sun and be lazy with us. We promise you won’t regret it. We’re not proud to be sinners, but at least we’re open about it…
Brewed simply from pilsener malt and Simcoe hops and fermented with an American yeast strain.

Bottle. Bit hazy golden colour with fast fading large white head. Sweet, hoppy, tropical aroma with grapefruit, citrus, tropical fruits and malt. Taste is grassy and soapy with grapefruit, citrus and pines. Medium bodied, soft to medium carbonation. Very long, dry, bitter, hoppy and grapefuity finish. Excellent fresh ipa-like apa.

6oz pour, on tap at Neon’s. A full pour is listed for $9 a 10oz. Mostly clear golden yellow color. Good thin off-white head. Leaves good dots and bits of lace. Good piney citrus hop up front in the nose. Some peppery bready malt. A light bit of older hop mustiness that I often find in belgian hop-forward beers. Moderate to bigger bitter taste, more dry finish. Medium to bigger body. Smooth, kind of soft, lighter carbonation. Dry finish. Solid, very hoppy, more bitter pale ale. Kind of assertive though, not really what I’d call sessionable.

Large off white head with very good retention and plenty of lace. Hazy, gold colored brew. Nose is flowery, citrusy and a hint soapy, metallic notes as well. Lightly medium in body, good carbonation, slightly acidic, some aspirin,y notes and a hint resiny. Juicy hop flavors, tropical and melony with some juicy fruit notes and a faint bready maltiness, dry. Dry finish, healthy bite but the astringency is a bit bothersome. Otherwise a better than expected APA from these folks. Bottle procured at statelineliquors.

Aroma is dank/grassy hops, citrus and a small hint of sweetness. The flavor is citrus, fruit, light grapefruit, tropical fruit and a mix of mild hop resin and tart/bitterness in the finish.

Sitruunaa ja humalaa tuoksussa. Myös aavistus karamellimaisuutta. Katkera, mutta tasapainoinen maku. Hedelmäisyyttä loppumaussa.

Bottle. Head is initially average sized, frothy, white, mostly lasting. Body is medium to dark yellow. Aroma is lightly malty (toasted grain), moderately hoppy (grapefruit, lemon oil), lightly yeasty (dough), with notes of garlic, cat pee, celery. Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, lightly to moderately bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, moderately to heavily bitter, unclean/vegetal. Medium body, velvety/watery texture, lively carbonation, lightly alcoholic. Blah, definitely not my kinda pale ale...harsh citrus hops with background notes that people associate with Simcoe (vegetal/garlic, etc.), and as with the Simcoe IPA from Mikkeller, I wonder why people use this hop at all...it’s just not pleasant. Some raw, doughy yeast doesn’t help either. Acrid and dirty tasting in the mouth. A drain pour for me. Such a hit and miss brewery, Amager.

murky hay, puffy head falls fast, laces well. Nose is huge orange with light cantaloupe balance, not too sugary as result but muddled and with no counterpart. Juicy front palate is all fruit, oily until glue bitterness mid with light dough, more orange in the grating finish.

3fourths (7885) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - APR 25, 2014
UPDATED: APR 26, 2014 Tropical fruit bubble gum hop nose with quieter notes of grass, sap, musty oranges and apricots, sweat. Medium body, semi-sweet, some malt coarseness. Oily alpha acid juiciness; finishing bitterness strong. For a single hop Simcoe pale ale (that is really IPA) it’s surprisingly good. There’s no cat pee or garlic, but it’s still a bit fruit-goopy, though not ruined by sweetness. If kept clear without much yeast getting in to the glass, it’s a fine experience and significantly better than the average pale ale coming out of western breweries.
