COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Danish: Saisoner er in. Saisoner er hippe. Simpelthen.

English: Saisons are in. Saisons are hip. It’s as simple as that. So far, no one has come up with a good explanation as to why this very traditional Belgian farmhouse style has suddenly skyrocketed in popularity amongst the in- crowd of the beer geek nation. Except, of course, for the fact it’s simply a very delicate drink in all of its refined simplicity. But we’ve committed a sin. We couldn’t resist. We poured our Amager Saison variety into a barrel. We hope the soft tannins from the wood and the noble Pinot Noir grapes add a juicy extra twist. By doing so, we may bring the wrath of Saison fundamentalists upon ourselves. But frankly, we don’t give a damn!
We’re not proud to be sinners, but at least we’re open about it…

#2 review of this beer, tried on tap before. A lot if difference, this much more what I expected. Bottle. Pours beautiful clear amber with one-finger off-white head. Aroma is spicy and peppery, catching the grapes and some wood. Taste is medium sweet, bit tart. Smooth body and really dry finish. Nice and the wine makes sense. So much difference between the two of them. This is spicy with wine-notes and color, on tap is was standard, but spicy saison. Have to be the barrels that are re-used?

500 ml bottle poured a clear amber with a lasting creamy ivory head. Aromas of straw, oak, caramel, light pepper and light vanilla. Palate was light bodied and smooth with a dry finish. Flavors of caramel, oak, vanilla and light pepper with a smooth dry lingering oak finish.

Mooie oranje kleur met een volle blijvende kraag. Ruikt hop, kruiden, mout, hooi. Smaakt kruidig, honing, beetje bitter, houtig, grapefruit.

From bottle, ruby-toned with a medium-sized fine head. Phenols in the nose come across as cinnamon, spice, plastic; esters and malt give it a browned banana and apple bake character. Medium-full body with medium= sweetness, strong tartness and gripping acidity delivered by fine natural carbonation and soft malt... it appears higher than 6.5% to me... fusels apparent after breathing seems to explain this. With the sweetness and banana character I’d put it closer to abbey tripel than saison. A sweet but ultimately balanced semi-strong Belgian golden ale that doesn’t come together into anything for me.

Aroma of sweet fruits such as apricot, orange peel, spicy yeast, oak, floral, malts, pinot noir grapes, faint barnyard. Flavour is fruity and yeasty, light sweetness. An interesting take on the Saison.

Draught @ Fermentoren Aarhus. Pours clear amber with small off-white head. Clear aroma of fruit and malt, with hoppy and citric notes. Sweetish, fruity and malty taste, complemented by hoppy bitterness and acetic touches. Hints of yeast in the otherwise sourish aftertaste. Decent.
