Danish: Saisoner er in. Saisoner er hippe. Simpelthen.

English: Saisons are in. Saisons are hip. It’s as simple as that. So far, no one has come up with a good explanation as to why this very traditional Belgian farmhouse style has suddenly skyrocketed in popularity amongst the in- crowd of the beer geek nation. Except, of course, for the fact it’s simply a very delicate drink in all of its refined simplicity. But we’ve committed a sin. We couldn’t resist. We poured our Amager Saison variety into a barrel. We hope the soft tannins from the wood and the noble Pinot Noir grapes add a juicy extra twist. By doing so, we may bring the wrath of Saison fundamentalists upon ourselves. But frankly, we don’t give a damn!
We’re not proud to be sinners, but at least we’re open about it…

Pours a dark ruby brown with an off white head. A mixture of light and medium dark malts on the nose with some nuts and red fruits. Quite the same in the mouth with a bit more fruit and red wine. This is a super interesting twist on a saison, which would be well served by a bit more concentration. Nice to drink.

Bottle. Golden, hazy, small to average and mostly diminishing head. Moderate, malty - some wheat and sweetish aroma, some caramel and light floral fruitiness, faint spiciness (coriander) and light hoppyness. Body is medium, malty - lightly wheaty and sweetish flavor, light - some caramel and light (berry) fruitiness, light hoppyness. Finish is average, malty - lightly wheaty and sweetish, light - some caramel and light (berry) fruitiness, light spiciness and hoppyness. Caramel sweetish "saison". Could be drier (with more bitterness and less caramel). Not very enjoyable and not so "saison".

Nice orange looking beer, with a thick beige head. Smell of orange peel and rich in esters / spices thanks to the yeast. Very saison like indeed. More alcohol heavy than your typical saison. Very nice.

Copenhagen 9/7 2015. 50 cl bottle from Gunnar Madsens Vinhandel. Aggressive goat woman giving you the eye from the label. Pours hazy orange with big white head. Settles as fat creamy layer of foam. Aroma is tart with distinct notes of Wine-like sweetness. Slightly metallic notes of alcohol. Medium carbonation. Taste is sourish like white wine. Aftertaste is quite sweet with boozy finish. Fine Saison - vinous and a little boozy.

Bottle at Taps Beer Bar, Kuala Lumpur. Poured a clear medium amber with a super frothy white head. The aroma is zesty citrus, dry mineral, some spice. The flavour is aniseed, light acid citrus with a smooth, nicely rounded, vinous, light oak palate with some sweet notes in the finish. Medium bodied with soft carbonation. Takes your regular saison a step further and it works for me. It’s packed with flavour and has none of the harshness you sometimes get in a saison.

Dark amber with a quickly dissapearing head, no lacing. Aroma of overiped grapes and sour yeast. A plessant taste of Sweet Riesling, caramell, spice and malt. Quit sourish but also verry sweet aftertaste. To saturating, but a nice twist to saison.

Beautiful dark red beer with moderate foam layer. Lovely refreshing aroma of berries (raspberries) and a little caramel. The taste is good and round and tastes a bit of oak. Ripe berries and a little caramel fight for attention and it’s all nice hoppy with long persistent aftertaste. A beer I will definately buy again some day..

0.5 bottle. Clear, coppery color with a humungous, creamy, off-white head. Aroma of malts, spices, lemon, cinnamon, coriander, and yeasts. Taste is sweet, marked by the same set of spices as the aroma, lemon, and a delicate hint of red wine. Medium body, creamy texture, and soft carbonation. Finish introduces a refined, buttery flavor as well as a soft touch of wood. Overall a nice beer, definitely deserves a higher average score than the current 3.33.

Dark orange drink with a thick a bit beigeish white head. Aroma is fresh fruit, redcurrant, lemon and yeast. Taste is mainly yeast and some malts with woodenlike bitter finish. Palate is medium. Good saison with bitter notes but nothing special though.
