COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

English: The sunstone - much disputed among scholars. Did the Viking navigators really have such a tool that would help them point out what was east and what was west - even on a less than sunny day? We certainly believe so. Many years later no sunstone was needed when Amager Bryghus was invaded by what very much looked like Viking ancestors of American descent. Hailing from Munster, Indiana, Chris Boggess and Barnaby Struve of Three Floyds Brewing arrived not with a vengeance but with very loud King Diamond on their portable mp3 player. This was not a day for slaughter but for brewing. And brew we did. The mellow and dangerously quaffable Arctic SunStone is proof that even Viking warriors can have a more subtle side to them. All hail to Three Floyds.

Ingredients: Water. Malts: Pale, Munich, Melanoidin. Hops: Tomahawk, Citra, Centennial, Simcoe. Yeast: UK-ale.

Bottle, De Molen Store. Shared with Sothez, Superbowl session. Hazy orangey gold pour with a smallish white head. Tropical fruit and grassy piney hop in the snout. Tropical fruitadelic flavour entwined with bang on hoppage. Lengthy bitter finish. Belting collaboration and one for the hop worshipers. I could happily chug away all night on this.

50cl bottle from De Molen Beershop in a teku glass. Pours murky gold to light amber with a soapy off white head. Aromas of hops, citrus fruits, raisins. Taste is hoppy, raspberries, bay leaf and/or licorice (which may give it its sweetness) and butter. Dry peppery aftertaste (maybe from cloves) that is dry on the palate, medium body, mild carbonation. Nice! Edit: Decided to drink some of the yeast at the bottom of the bottle, and it was very chili-like spicy!
