Brewed by Amarcord Brewery in the small medieval town of Apecchio, Italy, AMA Mora is a beer made specifically for the Italian dinner table. Designed by Brooklyn Brewmaster Garrett Oliver, Ama Mora is brewed with a special selection of Pascucci Coffee produced by the local company, and pure cane and Malawi sugar. Is a structured, but elegant beer all bound by the unmistakable flavor of typical italian espresso and a hint of hazelnut.

Beautiful 355ml bottle, bb07/2015, from Mondial de la Bière, Mulhouse. Fizzy dark maroon pour, radiating sugar cane, old molasses like in a homemade pulled pork sauce, rather than espresso, maybe the caramel sugared dregs left at the bottom of a cup. Taste is full-on diluted Kahlua coffee liqueur, thin-bodied amaretto (hazelnut), on a surprisingly light palate.

Bottle from Seiyu online. I decided to give my new stout glass from Spiegelau a go as well as trying it in a snifter. In both glasses it pours a cola brown become black in the glass. They both had a thick beige head but the stout glass displayed improved head retention. Snifter: The aroma gives a soft roasty coffee with cake like malt notes. The body is med-thin, a touch too watery for me but the flavor is of a semi-sweet slightly creamy coffee. 3.6 Stout Glass: A much more powerful aroma with the coffee having a sharper edge to it, a bit roasty and possibly more of a nutty breadiness. I feel the body comes off as fuller and the flavors are more balanced and harmonious: bitter dark chocolate, roasted coffee, a hint of creaminess, the finish has a bit more of a sharp bite to it. 3.8 This beer is very satisfying in both glasses but the stout glass really brings it to another level. Surprisingly I like the aroma in the snifter better but the taste/mouthfeel better in the stout glass. If you love stouts and dark beers get one of these glasses~!

The beer is reeeeally coffee! It’s a bit too flat, but generally it’s really good and I never tasted Italian beer before

Bottle from Booth’s in Ripon. Pours deep mahogany with a frothy tan head. The taste is liquorice and lots of coffee with some smoky notes. There’s some sweet fruitiness to begin with before a dry bitter finish. Pretty thin in body, especially for the ABV, but otherwise very good.

UPDATED: DEC 16, 2014 355ml bottle served in a tulip glass.  A: First of all, a beautiful bottle art. Pours a deep brown to black color forming a big bobbled beige head. Good retention and tons of lacings left in the glass S: Strong coffee and and dark chocolate in the nose. Notes of brown sugar. Roasted malts and earthy yeasts T: Coffee and roasted malts upfront. Slightly sweet and slightly bitter too M: Medium body and carbonation. Roasted malts and coffee aftertaste O: Quite drinkable despite the reasonable ABV. Great beer [ BA Review @ 5/11/2013 ]
