COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Prima Donna Special Lager is a classic lager noted for its unique aroma and its unsurpassed hoppy flavour. It is characterized by a brillant golden color, a compact head, and its fresh, thirst-quenching qualities.

An Oscar-winning beer
…we chose to call our beer Gradisca, because we brew it in this corner of Romagna and San Marino, between the sea and the hills, a land rich in history and amazing stories. But above all, as a tribute to an illustrious celebrity who was born here, film director Frederico Fellini, who conquered cinema-goers the whole world over with his rich and poetic vein of inspiration, winning as many as four Oscars for his films, including, of course, Amarcord, where Gradisca is the protagonist. 4.7% Alc. Vol.

Note: Uses the name Gradisca on the local market, and Prima Donna for export.
Known for being 4.7% ABV in the past, now at 5.2% ABV.

Golden colour, interesting herbal aroma. Not much bitterness, some hops, and nice, pale-ale like finish. Good for an Italian one.

Two 330ml bottles with the pasta food at Italia Bar in Edinburgh. Clear, straw coloured body. Diminishing, airy white head. Modest taste of grainy malts. Herbal hops and vegetables in flavour. Very dry and sweet to the finish. Possible to drink with the food, 14.04.2012.

Bottle. A clear, golden colored beer with a small, white head. Almost ham-like aroma with fruityness and maltyness as well. The flavor is mostly on the fruity side, with a backbone of pale malts. Some bitterness detected, but it wouldn’t hurt with some more, and that goes for the finish as well. Medium body, with pleasant carbonation level. Some metallic notes in the end. A decent and drinkable beer, but I don’t like the metallic finish. 110916

This one isn’t quite as bad as your average lager from around here but it’s still quite crappy. There’s a faint touch of cloudiness that makes it taste like watered-down hoegaarden (which I also hate). I don’t know, got this at the beer boutique excited because they actually had something I hadn’t seen before at the Beer Store but it was just a trick - the same old crap as usual.

Sampled from bottle at Brewery Creek, pours a clear piss golden yellow with a white head. Aroma and flavour: more or less the same as any bland mass-marketed lager, with corn, rice and some sweet malt. Drinkable and not overly offensive, but not good.
